I had zero expectation of a Mike Wallace spot. I was fully prepared for the Larry King piece. No way he was going to turn Uncle Puke into Nathan Thurm.
 
What I'm starting to feel about the coaches down here is they are using the fact that they have these highly-rated players as a way to make themselves feel important. You have to kiss their *** because they have a player every coach wants. It gives them a chance to feel important. They're like the brat whose parents bought them the new Playstation for Christmas, so they turn into a ********** to see who they'll let play it first. **** you Tommy.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. There's way too much negativity on this board. Not just regarding Luke, but in almost every thread it seems. It's getting annoying.
 
As I read this I could only think of one thing. Ice and Luke where like scorn lovers and they decided to show UM that if you do this **** to us we will send our kids to other schools. If you don't think they feel Miami needs them more then they need Miami your sadly mistaken. They act like they are bigger then this program and not part of it. So ***k Em

I like what Pete does even though I mentioned to Able a while back that all of his optimism was going to get him roasted when we missed out on guys. With that said, the reason I rolled my eyes was because Pete's just not that type of kid, and I knew the interview wasn't going to be what it needed to be. I don't think that will change a year or two from now either. That's not to dog Pete, but instead to call it like I see it. He's got a certain relationship with guys down there where he's not going to do the type of interview that needed to be done in this situation.

I don't know, Pete's in a catch 22 spot here. He needs to build up his rep and relationships before he can start asking the truly tough questions. If he starts grilling Luke, then Luke's not going to do another interview with him or talk to him about recruits. Now, if Pete's still in the business 2 years from now, hopefully he will have built up more relationships and reputation and have more leverage to ask those questions w/o fear of being closed out in the future.

That being said, the way Luke goes on Twitter spouting one-sided arguments, I'm not sure anybody would be able to ask him the hard questions w/o fear of being shut out in the future.

I agree with you that Pete did a great job with the interview and that Luke wants all his guys looked at. But that's not all that Luke said last week. He went on a ***goty rant about Al and staff not being in the inner city and not talking to the head coaches of these schools. We all know that's bull****. Luke is a prick and if he really loved the U like he says he does, he wouldn't be yacking it up on twitter with the 'Nole lover and U hater Beanbag.

So i was with you, even though your tone is a bit "bomb"ish, until you got to your point and totally downplayed the race baiting. Luke "just loves to race bait at the same time."

That's no place for a just. Luke's race baiting is completely uncalled for and makes the value of his perspective lose whatever value it could have. It poisons *some* rational comments with unnecessary emotion and obvious bias. I'm not sure how that isn't the main point addressed in your defense of Luke's approach.

You i ve read most onf the comments here i see that most of you really dont understand the dynamics of high school football in S Fl ..... I know yall think you do but you dont if you ve never been an school down here or if your not a product of the schools down here ..... Luke is actually very intelligent and the dude cares a whole lot i dint know how many of yall have done bookbag drives and feed the kids in the city but until you should hold yo comments on his dedication ....... Just my 2 cents
 
What he really said is that Cristobal and Coley aren't black. BTW, did Barrow leave the team? He all of the sudden can't recruit Miami?
 
I would have liked to see some follow up questions on top of Pete's predetermined question list. That might be asking too much for a man of young Peter's age. Hopefully he can develop that in due time.

For me, I would have liked to see a follow up on the leading rusher in dade county comment. Luke makes it seem like the leading rusher in dade county automatically qualifies for a UM offer. I remember the spanish kid from Columbus who led the country in rushing in the mid-2000s and only had like 4 offers. IIRC he ended up being a backup at Colorado State.

I'll also echo EthnicSands comments regarding the lack of follow up on the ice harris nonsense. But again, Peter is a young guy. That will come in time.

Yeah I dont know how much *** kissing I would do to those guys. Be professional? Yes. Kiss ***? Go kick rocks. **** I wish Al could blast these dudes publicly.
 
Luke loves UM as long as they bow to his wishes, recruit the kids he wants and hire the right coaches. What the **** does he want next......to approve the gameplan, offensive/defensive schemes and be in the booth on game day? Idiot.

Yup. I would have; Racist Puke has never had to answer that question even though his twitter is nothing but him race baiting. He's a piece of **** UM hater; that guy needs to shut the **** up and realize he isn't important. He's not a gatekeeper of anything. He's an irrelevant ******.
