This is going to sound bad, but.......Did anyone really expect Pete to ask those type of questions? I sure didn't. The minute I saw the title of this thread I rolled my eyes.
im sure we wont be rolling our eyes in a year or two. Cool to see this kid get better at what he does. And this forum creates a nice environment of accountability for him, with everyone picking apart what he does he can only improve
I like what Pete does even though I mentioned to Able a while back that all of his optimism was going to get him roasted when we missed out on guys. With that said, the reason I rolled my eyes was because Pete's just not that type of kid, and I knew the interview wasn't going to be what it needed to be. I don't think that will change a year or two from now either. That's not to dog Pete, but instead to call it like I see it. He's got a certain relationship with guys down there where he's not going to do the type of interview that needed to be done in this situation.
just my .02
I don't know, Pete's in a catch 22 spot here. He needs to build up his rep and relationships before he can start asking the truly tough questions. If he starts grilling Luke, then Luke's not going to do another interview with him or talk to him about recruits. Now, if Pete's still in the business 2 years from now, hopefully he will have built up more relationships and reputation and have more leverage to ask those questions w/o fear of being closed out in the future.
That being said, the way Luke goes on Twitter spouting one-sided arguments, I'm not sure anybody would be able to ask him the hard questions w/o fear of being shut out in the future.
