I actually respect the kid for this decision

If he's having second thoughts the right thing to do is decommit and look around instead of ******** a school over later in the game

Losing Collins is not even an option. Most complete back Miami would have had since probly mcgahee. In our backyard and losing him to fsu to me is a huge black eye to golden, same goes with Thomas. Shame.

What are other options now realistically? Like Green a lot to go along with Duke but I don't see it happening, probably too late to the party and who knows if he has mutual interest. Obviously, we need a RB or 2 in this class. Who are some realistic prospects? Chestnut? Turman? Folston? I hope we stay after Collins but he's prolly headed to FSWHO...

I feel sorry for the people that didn't see this coming. At the end of the day, his coach (whom he lives with), is a scumbag that dislikes Miami.

This. We need to get it done. Even if we have to offer his scrub friend. next to DT this is the most crucial pick up for the team.

I love posts like this, as if Golden just said **** it, we don't want you anymore. Nothing any coach can do if a kid wants to go somewhere else. They can call them 151564 times a day, if the kid isn't feeling his that school, he won't go there.

How do you know Thomas or Collins for that matter, won't end up here?

**11/7- Today's decommitment is not a surprise. Talking to a of Miami commit last week who knows him, he said it was only a matter of time before this happened. Miami is still in the picture, but it will be an uphill battle. It was an uphill battle the second FSU offered Franklin. I tried posting this last week, but I don't think some of you realized how big of a deal it was for these two to play together.

Don't expect a final decision from him until his season at South Plantation is over.

Where does Miami go from here? The pursuit of Derrick Green is on. He fits what they are looking for as far as a power back. The key will be getting him on campus for a visit. If that happens, the Canes have a legitimate chance with him. The staff knows that they would have Daryl Chestnut in the bag as soon as they offer, so my hunch is that they will go after a guy like Green before him due to their running styles. In the worst case scenario, they could offer Chestnut late and he would commit, which is not a bad back-up plan whatsoever. While he doesn't necessarily fill the big back spot, he is the type of player that people will be asking "How did he get away?"
