It's been pointed out but Collins and Sony are two guys that for real don't give a **** about the depth chart. Not just recruit-speak, they for real think they are better than everyone else as soon as they step on the field.

I've heard that, but I call BS, everyone looks at who's in front of them/who they have to beat. Dukes not going to carry the ball 30 times a game, he could split carries here as a true fresh......

I think his interest in FSU is enough to prove it isn't BS, but ok.

Smarter than what? He isn't intimidated by the depth chart. I know what Jimbo is selling as far as his boy goes but it doesnt change the fact that he thinks he will play immediately there.

I never post, but I heard on ATL sports radio that Auburn is going to fire their coach and Jimbo will be taking the job. It will be anounced in December after the SEC championship. If that happens, the new FSU coach may revoke Franklin's offer. Collins will be available again. If Jimbo stays at FSU, Collins is gone. The coaches should be able to figure out by now what he's going to do. I say cut him loose and evaluate Daryl Chestnut, Tarean Folston or A.J. Turman. Running Backs come a dime a dozen. It's not like QBs or DTs.

Cutting him loose is Randy BS. When it gets tough you should quit recruiting a kid?

Howard wouldn't be on campus if this was Golden's style. Lots will change before signing day, Golden will be recruiting Collins up until that day.

If Jimbo leaves FSU then losing Collins will be the least of their worries, short-term at least. Long-term they will benefit because Jimbo is one of CFB's finest "less with more" coaches.

This is not a kid you cut loose. All the running backs you mentioned have talent, but none of them are close to the level that Collins displays. This is guy is a starter from Day 1, and if not for Duke, would get more than 14 carries a game. Size, speed, balance, violent downhill runner, excellent cut back ability. Take off the locks and his tape will remind you of a young Frank Gore. Put this kid on a powerhouse team like BTW and his hype would generate #1 RB HS in the nation type status.

Yeah, kid is that good.

Checked ESPN and his scouting profile reads: "Collins is a smaller multi-purpose running back..." and I stopped right there. Please, talk about lazy scouting. 5'11" and 200+ is not smallish. I wonder if they even watch this kid play. There are not 17 RBs better than him in the nation.

I'm nothing like Randy. I've followed recruiting long enough to see the signs when a kid isn't coming. FSU didn't take Franklin without Collins coming along. Pete says that one of the other commits told him Collins is all FSU. I would keep lightly recruiting Collins, but I would look for another RB commit and tell him that we're taking 2 this year. Golden said, "If they're looking. We're looking." It's time to really start looking. Howard didn't have the burden of getting his teammate/best friend a ship. He hadn't taken money or didn't have to look out for anyone. Golden should've recruited Howard to the end. You don't waste time recruiting kids like Keith Brown after he tells you his brother needs a ship.

if that was the case, wouldn't clements and crawfordbe splitting carries with duke, rather than mike james. Wouldn't golden have just taken a smaller back last year instead of danny dillard.

Nothing really that we don't already know. He is happy his friend got the FSU offer but still says he has to make the best decision for himself. He is focused on his team's season more than recruiting. He is still deciding between the 3 teams (Miami, FSU and Wisconsin). He has kept Miami up to date on everything.
