AQM give me facts

Did anyone even end up in the hospital. .. **** cause to kick a guy out of school for a fight is pretty harsh mane... no weapons.. really??? Smh

A fight would get you kicked out of even a private high school like Gulliver or Ransom Everglades. It would also get you kicked out of an top-level school like MIT or an Ivy. Life on a college campus is lived on a much higher level than life on the street. Attending a good college is not a right; it is an honor and a privilege. Students worked hard to get in, excelling in high school and doing well on admissions tests. If you mess up academically or break the rules, you're out.

This has to be a troll. No one can be this arrogant.

Lot of misinformation here. This would have been a major disciplinary hearing, which is heard by 3 people: a student (one of maybe like 10-12 Seniors that are trained to hear major cases), a faculty member, and a Dean. Simple majority vote (based on preponderance of evidence) to make a ruling. If it's appealed, it's heard by Pat Whitely (VP of Student Affairs) and her alone.

This Herrera kid could very well be one of the kids who hears these cases, but he's not the only one, and his vote alone doesn't make the decision.

yup and since it was appealed, Whitely heard the case and made the final ruling on the matter.

Another rat squad nerd. Publish this motherfcker's name too just like that pencil-necked dude who needs elastic in his dress shirt collars. Let's lynch all of them!

We are not collectively stupid. This doesnt add up. The altercation didn't lead to charges yet somehow results in a fall semester suspension for the football player - while the other individual involved goes on to graduate.

We've jumped the shark.

Seriously. Rashard Casey beat up an off duty police officer when he was the QB at Penn State but was welcomed back with open arms by Paterno. They didn't let students decide the fate of their players.

LMAO at this dumb ***. Who are these clowns that have such a high regard for themselves? Where are these students at the university of Miami coming from?

Lol were a top 50 institution and this stuff will not be tolerated. Why was the other kid involved in the FIGHT which involves two people not punished and allowed to graduate?

That's a real b! Tch *** call.. just for a fight. And why does the student council get to make that call.. aren't administrative people getting paid big bucks to make that decision

I read the other dude slammed door knocking over AQM's child. Then, like any father would do, AQM punched the guy.

If that is all that AQM did, I doubt that he would have been suspended. I have heard it said that AQM "beat the *** out of him...." So accounts vary. A couple of problems we have here are that much of what we hear is slanted one way or the other, and another is that people believe what they prefer to believe.

Don't word smith. He kicked another grown mans *** for slamming a door into his child.

Assume that the average kid on the student council has an IQ twenty to thirty points higher than yours and is MUCH less biased on this issue. Both probably correct, although I really can't be certain about the relative IQs. Then add the fact that they listened to testimony from both kids and from witnesses and that they are more familiar than you are with the student code of conduct and with general standards of life on campus. Then admit to yourself that much of your picture of what happened involves a large measure of reliance on hearsay supplemented by your own imagination.

Wow, you are quite the condescending douche bag. Congrats on you and your rat pack fellow pussified classmates in ruining a great school.

I would tell you that you should be ******* ashamed of yourself, but in your world this drivel makes sense to you. An honor and a privilege huh? You are not special son. As much as your parents told you that you were, the cold reality is nobody gives a **** about you outside of your mommy and daddy. Your generation is ruining the educational system and this country in general. Bunch of sniveling, snot nose brats with an entitlement issue. Administration and educators have brain washed you into thinking they can't be questioned and from the sound of it you are falling right the **** in line aint you, you rat *******? News flash, the school you attend would be NOTHING, I mean NOTHING without the football program. Reading the **** you and your rat pack friends post makes me embarrassed to be an alumnus.

So everyone blames the Uni, and no one places any blame on the player at all? The penalty was too stiff but the player knew what could happen to him. He shouldn't have been in the predicament. AQM would be in all kinds of trouble if he was in the nfl. I just wish our school would look the other way like they do with other coaches' performances

Why would he be in trouble in the NFL? There were no charges filed vs AQM. Nothing has happened in the laws eyes, the university did him dirty.

A fight will get you kicked out of an elite private high school?

:kobe:

Only if you are the black kid. The white kid graduates.

My ***. The black kids at elite private high schools are there to win football and basketball games.

Most of them would have to burn down the library and rape the headmaster's mother to get kicked out.

Some of those private schools don't **** around.

I told you guys this had nothing to do with the staff or even the administration. The protocol is set in stone and some ****** students decided to suspend one of our most talented football players for defending his son.

There is no way that a student honor council has the final say on whether a kid gets suspended.

Read the Code of Conduct and related procedure. The accused has the right to appeal, but the adjudicative body includes students. And the appeals are never successful. This is not a novel concept. From the beginning of academia, students have been empowered to enforce codes of conduct.

Bull****. Go read the student code of conduct carefully. You'll see that suspending an undergrad for something other than cheating, plagiarism, collusion, or academic dishonesty can only be done when the violation is charged as a major level offense. p. 65. And on major-level offenses, the VP of Student Affairs has the final say on suspensions p.65. So yes, that has a lot to do with the administration, considering a member of the administration has the final say.

That's a joke of a protocol. Allowing some dip**** student to determine the fate of a Division I athlete that probably contributes to the university, in his own fashion, more than you do.

my question is how did the student council/admins/football staff find out about this?

if AQM rightfully beat his *** and the roommate took it as he should have, that would be the end of the story.

that roommate must have screamed like a bltch and/or snitched like a bltch

Once again if this were true the other kid would not have been able to graduate a fight is between two people just because you get your *** kicked dosent mean you should get better treatment because your a ****

that's where it gets fishy lol. why was the other kid allowed to graduate if it was truly self defense and AQM just reacted to the kid knocking his son down? a lot of details are missing and due to the severity of the punishment, it seems to be more than a broken nose and from what tim Reynolds has said, witnesses gave conflicting statements regarding the self defense claim.

If it was as severe as some have put it on here, one might assume coral gables police would have arrested AQM. They need merely probable cause.
How about we settle this by someone on the honor council telling us first hand what happened at the hearing?
