How come you did not go to TheU in your hometown? We'r... — My hatred for losing outweighed my desire to stay home
........

Win and they will come.

Hopefully the kid makes it to the league and stays.

If not, that Alabama degree will take him far.

You could say that for the majority of college football players from **** near every college in the US including Miami

No **** no you can't. His statement is all about context. If you don't understand it no need to chirp. His point was simple. He chose a college based solely upon football. If it doesn't work he's screwed because an Alabama degree is worthless. A university of miami degree especially in your field of study is **** near priceless... smh.

It's funny seeing people act shocked, SHOCKED! that a kid would want to go win at currently the premier program in college football. He didn't spurn Miami for a USF or an NCSU. He went to 'Bama. Jeesh.

Some of you guys are putting him in a no win situation. He wants to win? He's a frontrunner. But if the roles were reversed and it was Bama that was coming off 6-6, had an NCAA investigation looming, and he went there people would say, "Afraid of competition, doesn't want to win, would rather be a big fish at a crappy program. No heart."

Take off the orange and green glasses for like two seconds and you'll understand that not every HS kid should, or does want to go to UM.

When we were ballin, guess we had a lot of frontrunners commit here as well by some people's estimation.

lol yea maybe if your in a specialized field like engineering or something. Maybe music. Other than that getting a degree in psychology or some **** which most football players get. Doesn't matter where you go for that.

Almost everytime I think of Amari Cooper I hear this quote. Kills my soul a little bit each time.

So you disagree that we didn't land some players during our glory years based simply on our style of play as well as mythical national championships? How then did guys from different parts of the country's of a sudden become fans? Good or bad, people have always wanted to play for a winner.

Got anything of substance to add? Nah, I'm sure you don't. You're just punk with internet access.

I know your mom responsibilities have you so frazzled you can't think straight, but I'm going to call out your obvious and condescending "Ms Fair soccer mommy" bullshīt when I come across it. Your female social justice tendencies make you jump up and make sure everyone knows that, hey, maybe we had some frontrunners come here, too. Like anybody with an IQ over 50 doesn't know that the fūck already. You are literally a walking, talking tampon.

Those of us that are actual fans want the deck stacked in our team's favor, we don't give a flying fūck about "fairness" or what's best for other teams or anybody else. We want what's best for this U. Fūck everybody else.

Because he's a front-runner... Duke, and a lot of dudes didn't like losing. Ed Reed hated to lose but endured a 5-7 season. AC just ain't built for it.

Dudes think they're special, "but I ain't mad at ya..Got nothin but love.. Do ya thing boi!"

Not sure who told you most football players get a degree in psychology... most football players actually get a degree in one form or another of business, criminology or broadcasting at miami. But regardless since no particular major was mentioned I'd assume wed be speaking on average & on average it's a proven fact that a degree from the University of Miami carries alot of weight with it. I'm not gonna get in a war of words over this.I don't know your background & it's irrelevant to this topic but it's a proven fact a degree from us takes you places. Sorry Ifor that doesn't meet your approval but it is what it is.

Funny how at the time no one cared when we didn't land this kid. Golden screwed the whole thing up. Everyone wrote it off that we had better targets. Then in the 11th hour everyone was disappointed we didn't flip him. The rest is history.

Whose to say this kid becomes a star under Al golden? We don't know that. I just wish ppl would stop reaching out to none UM players from Miami with this type of stuff. It was lame in 2013 and it's still a lame thing to do today.

Exactly. Let's not pretend like UM is an ivy league school. Unless these kids get a degree in a stem field, which carries weight almost anywhere then it doesn't matter. I'm not trying to be funny, but many people on this board would be surprise how much weight a UM degree carries outside of south Florida. This isn't some "Harvard of the South". Football made this school.

Where does it carry a lot weight? And compared to who? Its a good degree no doubt but I work in academia pursuing a phd and many of my professors and advisors received their degrees from either ivy league programs or the cali schools such as UCLA, Stanford, etc. UM isn't some golden ticket degree. We have good programs but just like programs like Bama, OSU, & LSU football made our school. That being said, I believe UM is better than those programs but like I said its not some ivy league of the south.

Cooper and Ridley and Juedy don't represent the 305

They are 205

Tuscaloosa is their city, so to **** w all of em

Look, theres obviously something up with Miami and the local recruiting scene, we finally finish the season strong and the same **** going on, we're going to have to change how we recruit and spend our time until we're good enough to lure the front-running/hand out south florida crowd

Yet again there's facts that prove this. ***** the Ivy league angle. Obviously that's something different but I know what I'm saying as I graduated from Miami as well. I'm not from the south,I travel the world & I do very well for myself. I know plenty of people that went to um that did the same. Funny **** to me is always the people who never settled on a major. Constantly changed up course loads & therefore end up working In job fields they know **** about. That's when they end up not having a degree worth something because they have no direction. It's not difficult. Have a plan, some direction & stick with it.
