Amari Cooper why he didn't put on for his city

Somebody, I think is was Saban's uncle Lou, said long ago that the only thing wrong with Miami was poor coaching. Howard proved that to be true. If this staff is good, we will win. If not, no amount of "elite" recruits will change that. Coaker only won becuase Butch left an impossible to match amount of NFL Hall of Fame talent. Reed and Dorsey coached that team. Once they were gone, even all those first round picks that remained were not enough. We live or die with this staff.

Frontrunner. Good for him. This one's for the Howards, Dukes, and McDermotts of the team... Won't be long.... Bring it back...

Well, not to mention that at the time, the NCAA situation with the school looked bleak. Plus, coming off a 6-6 season in which a highly disappointing senior class was on the way out. Can you really blame him?

Yup, pretty easily.

You have to think of it from a non Canes fan perspective.

No, we don't....he took the easy route. There is no denying it, and I do blame him for it. That said, **** him...who cares. Move on.

I wouldn't look too much into this. A few years ago, USC was everyone's choice. Now days, guys want to go to Alabama... A lot of kids jump on a team's bandwagon when they're winning. This is nothing new.

Most of the guys these days have seen the '30 for 30' Miami special, so they know of Miami's history. Plus many guys, especially in South Florida, grew up watching Miami and loving Miami. This explains the "Miami is my dream school" mantra. To piggyback off the 'Field of Dreams' movie quote "If you build it, they will come", well, 'if we (Miami) win, they will come'. Plain and simple.

Our fans actully think he was coming here. Shannon wasnt pulling him here.

Dudes on grassy then were saying they didn't want him.

It's funny seeing people act shocked, SHOCKED! that a kid would want to go win at currently the premier program in college football. He didn't spurn Miami for a USF or an NCSU. He went to 'Bama. Jeesh.

Some of you guys are putting him in a no win situation. He wants to win? He's a frontrunner. But if the roles were reversed and it was Bama that was coming off 6-6, had an NCAA investigation looming, and he went there people would say, "Afraid of competition, doesn't want to win, would rather be a big fish at a crappy program. No heart."

Take off the orange and green glasses for like two seconds and you'll understand that not every HS kid should, or does want to go to UM.

Ahhh, gotta love elite kids taking the easy way out!

So wait, if they don't sign with us while we're down they're taking the easy out and if they sign with us with we're up they're taking the easy way out?

Hmm, ok.

I'm seriously so sick of this comment, and general attitude. We are on a UM message board, everything here (besides our resident **** gator) will come through the perspective of a UM fan. If you have a problem with that there are tons of other sites you can post on. If you want to post here then just accept this as a give and get over it.

Don't blame him. It's the coaches job when they're recruiting to convince kids that we are going to win when they get here, and that the kid is going to help us win. Coaches didn't do their job well enough or he'd be here.

2 National Championships later...one more year he will be a 1st round draft pick...I can't say I hate the guy...

He sits the bench and chats it up comes in runs a few go/curl/slants goes for a 2 tds 150 yards and comes back to the bench and kicks back very nice like

I am sure he is a happy man

This kid has a National championship ring, is on track to become a 1st team all american AND a 1st round pick and you guys are questioning why he chose ALA over UM? First off, WHO CARES! Second off, until we start winning again you better get used to this. What do you think Amari and Nick and Traitor Marios sales pitch is gonna be to Ermon when he goes up there for a visit? The beautiful beaches in Tuscaloosa? The happening nightlife? No, its gonna be the national TV games, the winning tradition WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS, and a track to the NFL. They are gonna tell him this is a BUSINESS decision. Lets just hope for the best when it comes to Ermon and Dalvin.

If you wanted to stay home but you go away to a program so you can win a **** ring, yeah it's the easy way out. And yes, if a elite Alabama kid who wanted to stay home come to Miami so he can win a ring instead of building the program he grew up loving than he's taking the easy way out.

Not bashing the kid or questionning his character, but he did take the easy way out.

Our best team (2001) was assembled with players that came to a team that wasn't winning a lot.

1997 5-6
1998 9-3
1999 9-4

It was the guys that we got when we were winning that brought us back to regularity.
