Amari Cooper why he didn't put on for his city

As Al has said on many occasions, it's easy to hop on the train while it's running full tilt, but it takes a different type of person to have a vision and want to build something of their own.

Nothing wrong with Amari not being the latter, but it does make the Duke Johnson's of the world all the more special. Shows just how different Duke, Tracy, Perryman, Coley, and Bush are.

I know it hasn't shown up in the win column yet, but I truly believe we have a special group on our team. If a kid doesn't have the personality to want to build from the bottom, then he probably wouldn't have exhausted his potential here anyway.

Once again, this doesn't say much about Amari to me. It just tells me everything I need to know about guys like Duke Johnson.

A wise CiS poster said Duke Johnson was our most important recruit in a decade. Honestly, he could prove to be our most important recruit.....ever.

The timing, the talent, the flag-bearing, the push to get a whole slew of elite SFLA talent to join him.

Who care? I only care abiut this U! He is just some other dude who plays football and will never run through the smoke or say"THE U" before a NFL game. Stop talking about these guys. Let them be the big fish in the little bitty toliet bowls they picked. Does anyone remember some kid ranked higher than Playmaker who went to some other school? **** no! Why, caus whoever it was is just some other dude who played football. It is ALL ABOUT THE U!

It's funny seeing people act shocked, SHOCKED! that a kid would want to go win at currently the premier program in college football. He didn't spurn Miami for a USF or an NCSU. He went to 'Bama. Jeesh.

Some of you guys are putting him in a no win situation. He wants to win? He's a frontrunner. But if the roles were reversed and it was Bama that was coming off 6-6, had an NCAA investigation looming, and he went there people would say, "Afraid of competition, doesn't want to win, would rather be a big fish at a crappy program. No heart."

Take off the orange and green glasses for like two seconds and you'll understand that not every HS kid should, or does want to go to UM.

I'm seriously so sick of this comment, and general attitude. We are on a UM message board, everything here (besides our resident **** gator) will come through the perspective of a UM fan. If you have a problem with that there are tons of other sites you can post on. If you want to post here then just accept this as a give and get over it.

Nobody has to accept anything.. who the f are you!!! Just because we associate ourselves with the team doesn't mean I'm some blind *** homer. Grow up and stop speaking for me; speak for your **** self.

I don't have to accept anything you wrote.....imbecile.

It woulda been nice if that player played for the Canes, but he had his choice, and it was Bama. He ran through enough smoke at Northwestern, let's deal with the players that we have & can get, and let's turn it around.

We just need to win, fellas. Golden needs to coach 'em up. Bottom line. No one is going to want to play for a mediocre team in ACC. It's winning time.

If everyone was a homer, then this place would be worse than it already is.

Cool. Stacey thinks he can win anywhere apparently, so he'd rather do it in his city.

lol@ him taking the easy way out. because its not like bama signs a slew of 4-5 star players at his position to compete or anything. and saban does not hesitate to cut players so its perform or gtfoh.

even worse is this 'put on for your city' nonsense, like miami, uf or any of these schools would give a **** about these players if they couldn't ball, why do they owe the city anything? there are plenty of die hard cane fans playing in the city who doesn't even so much as get a call from miami even though they have other d-1 offers, where is the loyalty from the city or school then? some of y'all are ridiculous.

true ****. he goes to a winning program, he's taking the easy way out. yet if miami was the top program winning titles, and he went elsewhere, people would say he's afraid of competition. they get to have their cake and eat it too.

why should primo talent want to stay home? the majority of Miami fans in all sports are front runners and will only show when a team is in the spotlight winning. when they're down and out or in imminent danger they disappear. want a great example, check out game 6 of the NBA finals w/ a minute to play...

It's not that they owe the city anything it's that Miami's football program has always been about more than just representing the school. It's about representing the city and it's neighborhoods where these kids are from. It is more similar to a pro team in terms of what it means to the city and the city's fan base than what a typical college program is and players from south Florida have historically taken pride in being from the area, having the area considered the best area in the country in terms of talent and bragging about the best from that area and helping the area dominate the landscape of college football. It's not about loyalty but what the program means and has historically meant.

Cooper doesn't owe anyone anything, he wanted to win and went to a winner.

Some guys do that others think they can make a team a winner.

this is fine and i understand it. in fact, its one of the reasons i rooted for the canes when they weren't playing uf.

but when it comes down to it these guys have to make business decisions. and people accusing them of taking the easy way out are ridiculous for a number of reasons.

It's not the "easy way out" but it's also not what a lot of guys did in the 80s, mid 90s and some are doing now saying we are going to stay in our city and bring our school back. It's why guys like Michael Irvin can come into a Miami fan's dining room, take a **** on the table and have the same fan applaud him for it. And I think that's what being expressed when posters say "the easy way out."

Of course they have to make business decisions. That's what the SEC is all about. Paying kids to play for their programs in the middle of nowhere where the fans fly flags that symbolize black slavery, where the towns have nothing to do but commit crimes, and where the education is laughably terrible.

So yes, Amari made a business decision. And if the NCAA actually put an end to pay for play, 95% of elite kids wouldnt leave south Florida.

I'm not sure I care what he says. It was his choice and now he will never be part of the U family, My family.

I don't know what in the **** he's talking about. I from here and I've never abandoned or walked away from my team when they were losing, but apparently in his eyes, it ok to do that kind of thing... Sounds like he's trying to save face with the locals (yeah, all those folks back home). whatever.

Bottom line is if your a real player, you will succeed where ever you play...

Go chew on some more deer antler...

Go Canes - forever!!!

Who the **** cares about Amari Cooper. He's playing for BAMA. This is the ******* U. Idgaf about the Tide, I care about this U. Let's worry about OUR players. The guys who want to be Hurricanes, and are proud to wear the U on the side of their helmet.

you can't have it both ways, your argument is really circular and retarded. i don't see you on here downing kids from out of state when they choose miami over their hometown programs precisely because they're making a business decision. as to the rest of your post, not even worth the time.
