latest on Mateer from OU side..

apparently they will have a bunch of WRs there in the trip selling him on committing..
They are still worried about a Miami visit

 
To me, if someone is advising him correctly, a few things should be what is being looked at.

1. Where can I showcase my talents the most to make my draft value go up.
2. NIL money, but NIL money is for one year. You have to weigh if I go there, and move down the draft because of that year, but I got more money for the one year NIL deal, I overall lose.
3. OL
4. WR
5. RB
6. Offensive scheme to showcase my talents

I think that folks focus on NIL too much. It's absolutely important, no doubt. But folks of his caliber have the bigger picture to look at. Where the OU might be doing good in my humble opinion, is bringing everyone together like potential WRs coming in, other potential portal type of players to have them all being sold the same music.

I think Miami has a ton to offer in the big picture of a talent like him, if we get a seat at the table and Mario can put it together, who says we don't get a shot at the kid. I mean if you can't sell the OL and what Ward did to position himself in the draft and contrast that to what OU did, then the kid might not be getting good advise by his agents.

We will see, but I think Miami situation has a ton to offer here.

if you look later, I stated some things are posted for laughs. Folks shouldn't look too into posts and assume things, sometimes post are meant to laugh at and not taken seriously.

"Hey, we can pay you a bunch of NIL...but don't be mad if the OLs we give you GET YOU KILLED and we fill the roster with a bunch of slapdick WRs from much lesser schools...BUT THE MONEY IS GREEN, amirite?!"

Sure I don’t disagree with you but that dues simply over the top. Even if it’s a shtick it’s just not funny lol. Comes across as a complete ***

Yea cause a visit to us is not going to end well for them. Most of what OU is pitching he knows already. He may know what Mario is going to say, but getting him on campus in front of Mario is different. Idk when it happens but if he visits, that needs to be the day Ward’s name gets hung in the IPF.

Mario probably has 2-3 ELITE WRs that are ready to commit once Matter drops that makes the OU receivers look like middle schoolers.

Legitimately, if he chooses that shriveled, Skeletor-looking creature over us coming off last year, he needs his head checked.

These OU guys don't know ****. Sounds like our DB situation with Hanks and Pickett, but the shoe is on the other foot. Cam is the connection. There is literally no reason for Mateer to got to OU other than he played for a guy for a few months.

You forgot one that favors Miami, which is don’t panic and hear out every offer. No reason for him to just commit on the Okie trip. Even if he wants to go to Okie, at least go see Miami and make yourself some more money.
