He wasn’t ready in 2023. For sure. Miss me with the he beat Clemson and we almost beat fsu ****. We beat Clemson because of our lines and Klubnik was probably worse than Emory back then. I was at the fsu game, there wasn’t a second where I ever thought we’d win. He was like 10/28 for some ****. He sucked.

But none of this matters a ******* lick. Would the QB be 2023 Emory? Then yeah we’re gonna suck. What does 2025 Emory look like? I’ll say not Cam Ward but I’ll also say definitely not 2023 Emory either.

I wanted mateer and I would be fine taking another portal kid. But this absolutely ***** crybaby **** about we’re going 6-6 with Emory is nauseating. And like I said, almost always when this board feels one way, bet the house on the other side.

Emory looked like most true freshman in 23
Not physically ready, speed of game was too much. I'm saying he looked more polished this year bigger stronger. Like most 2nd year players.
He showed he had heart and fight in 23 for sure.

I feel great if he's our backup in 25. Think he could win games if needed

Five of the Heisman Top 10 were Portal QBs, including the guy we signed. The only homegrown product was the Army kid. Portal is the way.

We've been picky so far and not pursued players that, in my opinion, could have improved the room. I'll wait and see how it ultimately ends up.

Why do I get the feeling that the only people that wanted Mateer are the fans.
Starting to get the feeling that we have a staff or head coach with “smartest guys in the rooom” mentality.

I don’t see anyone on this roster that can take a team to the playoffs even if you surround him with talent.

Adding one safety doesn’t make up for the fact that we had 300lb dudes in coverage.

And every 5 star talent that’s a back up has no actual significant playing time.

I hope Mario and Dawson aren’t confusing Mendoza for some elite talent just because he scored points on our defense.

It’s also not like we’re hearing Greentree all American type of reports from practice about Williams.

And Did we really just replace receiver we developed for a dude with an injury?

It depends what the backup plan is. If there is one. If it’s what we have on roster then I sure hope they fix the defense and run ground and pound on O

I agree i'll wait n see how the roster shapes out but what we DO know is we'll have a strong offensive line and a good stable of running backs, it all depends on the QB situation n defense if we can sustain what we did this year in terms of W/L, but i'm not writing next yr off cause we didnt land this one dude lol. If we get someone like Mendoza we'll be fine if the defense can perform well next yr in my opinion. That OL & RB situation will help someone like mendoza succeed far more than he did at CAL.
