All ACC Team Announced

David Njoku - 38rec 684yds 7TD's = Honorable Mention

Jordan Leggett - 34rec 588yds 5TD's = 1st Team All ACC

That tells you all you need to know about how the ACC feels about Miami...

I understand Clemson is a great team & will probably make it back to the CFP again, so they deserve all the props they get... But the ONLY reason Legett gets 1st team is because he plays for Clemson.

Put those same stats he has on a team like Wake Forest or Syracuse & he wouldn't even be mentioned.

We had some good TEs in the ACC this year...

Maybe they felt Njoku was not the starter and got a lot of his stats from the WR position...that's the only reason I can see why they put 4 guys ahead of him.

IF that was the case then hodges would have 0 votes in this category. Don't think he played TE all season.

Dont know why CMR is ing. It gives him cover for 3rd in the Coastal.

BTW, how many 1st and 2nd team all ACC players should a 6th (or 7th?) place team have?

Deshaun Watson among many near misses on All-ACC team - ACC Blog- ESPN

Putting together this year’s All-ACC team was a chore. There was serious disagreement all over the roster -- from Deshaun Watson’s late charge at quarterback to the myriad options at defensive end to an email back-and-forth among the ACC writers debating the cornerbacks that went on far too long for our own good.

In other words, there were some particularly deserving candidates that didn’t quite make the list, but we wanted to acknowledge their efforts too. Consider this our honorable mentions:

Miami CB Corn Elder

No player engendered more debate for us than Elder, who by all rights belongs on the first-team list, but lacked the star appeal of big interception numbers. While FSU’s Tarvarus McFadden led the nation with eight picks and was one of the best corners in the second half of the season, Elder was a stud from Day 1. He allowed just one touchdown all year, led the ACC by allowing just 4.57 yards per target and had 13 passes defended. The problem? Just one INT.

Dude is a MONSTER. But we already knew that.

I think we're going to look back and realize (some do already) that Corn is one of the best CBs to play for Miami in a long time, and maybe among the best we've ever had.

Dude is a MONSTER. Some NFL team is gonna get a player (and will probably get a steal lower in the draft/cheaper than they should).

Espn didnt have him first team. They already picked mcfadden and tankersly. He should have got it over mcfadden.

Corn is right up there as 1 of the best CBs we've ever had IMO

He got WAY better from his junior season to his senior season.

Maybe Rumph can actually coach......

This board has gone from saying Jaquan Johnson and Rayshawn Jenkins are better dbs to saying that Corn is one of our best ever.

Jaquan has been a bust imo everyone was saying he was ed reed alwell most and i remmeber saying his tape was dope as **** but he was slow and i thought he wouldnt be as good as people thought. He still could have a great jr year and ill look dumb as **** which im cool with.

rayshawn Jenkins is a player no one likes to talk about but he has had a solid career at Miami. Had over 70 tackles this year 2int, 1.5 sacks, 3.5 tfl , multiple pads and a total of 9 ints in his career.

Inevitably this will end up an "eye of the beholder" argument, and certainly there's a scouting element to this that the stats simply can't capture. But based on all the information at hand, we'd probably go with Elder and Tankersley as our top two, with Lawrence and Stroman up next and McFadden and Alexander on our third team.

Anyone who tries to say Rumph can't coach is stupid or has an agenda. This was arguably the thinnest, least talented DB group we've had in a decade. Maybe the solid play was more Diaz than Rumph. But there is no question in my mind that this unit exceeded expectations. Now Rumph's recruiting is another story (so far)

Elder and Colbert played very well this year. Redwine, Jenkins, and Carter were all exposed frequently. But you're right, having a good pash rush and solid LB play helped out a lot. Young showed some flashes of being able to take over. Hopefully we'll land one of these recruits that can take over on the other side. Don't have a lot of confidence in Redwine being a starter here next year.
