Alex Collins finally signs with Arkansas

In this case it was just what we needed, however. She's doing the right thing.
 
I just hope the kid goes where he wants and not where his coach or mom want. Feel bad for this kid

Exactly. If he TRULY wants to go to Arkansas, then he should. But all indications are that he was pushed that way by his coach. Because, honestly, there is no draw for him to Arkansas other than the fact that his HS coach wants him there, and his HS coach has connections there. Even if he wanted to go to a school where he would be the feature back right away, there would be MANY other schools that are better at football AND better academically that would have taken him.
 
Whatever he decides, I hope HE decides. I don't want somewhere wearing the orange/green simply because their parents wanted them to. I want them to want to be here. If he is truly undecided, I applaud him on waiting and making the right choice, whether it's Arkansas or Miami.

Gatewood was at the school about 90 minutes before the ceremony, but declined comment to the Sun-Sentinel when asked about Collins’ decision to sign with Arkansas. Mike Collins said the running back came to school Wednesday morning, but then left.

“I thought for sure it was a done deal,” Collins said. “Obviously people had other plans.”

That last quote is from Mike Collins, not Alex, just to clear up any confusion.

how do you just 'leave' school for the day? I've had enough, see y'all later. when I was in HS, you couldn't get off campus without a pass, and the request for a pass was a note from a parent.
 
If he comes that would be the biggest bandade for the hurt from today but fk it we got Coley. Who cares how good fsu's D gonna be we gonna torch them bytches.

I have a hunch about this, and put it in another thread where everyone ridiculed the OP who said it was not over yet. I know no one involved, and have no source of information other than what I read, and something doesn't smell right about this whole situation. I think his mother realizes now that the coach is using her son, and doesn't like it. I think she feels that the coach has fed the family a bill of goods, and now they're starting to see it. There's no reason in the world this kid should all of a sudden develop an interest in Arkansas, other than Bielema, and where does that come from? The HS coach.

After taken a look at that unshaven, unkempt slob, I'm wondering if maybe his mom is starting to see through Gruntward.

I think she knows that UM is a better all around choice for her son.

Can you imagine if we had both Edwards and Collins, along with Duke? I still think it could happen.

By the way, look at the fact that Arkansas is signing three more big, fast backs. Where does Alex get a better chance for playing time?

i feel for the kid but why would you even want a kid that doesn't want to go to your school? mom should let him go where he wants. i wouldn't want a kid at uf that doesn't want to be there.

Alex told everyone was he choosing Miami before he left for Atlanta including our coaches. Gatewood set this whole thing up. I imagine Alex got back on Tuesday and had to face the music. 24 hours hasn't even gone by since he returned home. I've seen this before and it usually ends with Mom winning.
 
so y'all get upset because you think ice harris is pushing kids elsewhere but you're happy if a mom pushes her kid somewhere he doesn't wanna be since he's being pushed to your favorite school? cmon man, be consistent. parents and coaches need to stay out of the process and let kids go where they want to go.

Thats not the case. if you are following the story, Alex does not want to got to Arkansas, thats why he was at school crying because he was doing for his coach, now moms is steppind in. like i ahve said before the final decision should be made by the parents and the student, and sometimes the HS coaches get too involved. i could not care less at this point, because we got Edwards.
 
He didn't dog us. He was honest and forth coming about why he chose Arkansas. He actually handled the whole announcement in a classy way. No hat trick, no multiple shirts. Hopefully his mom and his girlfriend can talk some **** sense into him as to why Miami is the best choice.

Uuuuuh....his mom, like....pushed this kid out of her womb. I think that qualifies her to "push" her kid where she feels is the best place for her kid....
