Maybe he wants to wait a little more for news on sanctions? He's always expressed concern on that front. Huge news no matter what.

I have a hunch about this, and put it in another thread where everyone ridiculed the OP who said it was not over yet. I know no one involved, and have no source of information other than what I read, and something doesn't smell right about this whole situation. I think his mother realizes now that the coach is using her son, and doesn't like it. I think she feels that the coach has fed the family a bill of goods, and now they're starting to see it. There's no reason in the world this kid should all of a sudden develop an interest in Arkansas, other than Bielema, and where does that come from? The HS coach.

After taken a look at that unshaven, unkempt slob, I'm wondering if maybe his mom is starting to see through Gruntward.

I think she knows that UM is a better all around choice for her son.

Can you imagine if we had both Edwards and Collins, along with Duke? I still think it could happen.

By the way, look at the fact that Arkansas is signing three more big, fast backs. Where does Alex get a better chance for playing time?

Being an anonymous message board, there's no way to know if it's true, but on the ESPN article about this, someone posted that they are one of Collins' teammates and they know he wanted to go to Miami and the his coach pushed very, very hard for him to go to Arky. Again, could be total BS, but it passes the smell test anyway given how this all went down.

LOL@the poster who is claiming Collins wants to go to Arkansas and Guntwood wants him to go to UM. It just isn't true. The father of one of Collins' teammates told me that Collins wants to go to UM and that his mother wants him to go to UM.

This is from Jamie Newberg:

"I can say 100% that he was nervous about it. I told him on more than one occassion up in ATL, as did our producer, that if he wasn't ready do not do it. The last thing you want is what's happening today. He said he was okay and wanted to make the decision. That's why I tweeted after the commitment that he made his decision 30 seconds before he did it. I asked him after the fact and that is what he told me."

I forgot who tweeted it earlier today... if i find it I'll post it... but they said that collins had committed to Golden over the weekend and he was one of the silent commits barry jackson was talking about in his article over the weekend.... Then certain people got in his ear before he left for Atlanta and that on the flight he was going crazy back and forth until right before he went on he decided on Ark... Supposedly his commit to Ark on tv caught the coaching staff completely off guard... I hope to high **** your telling the truth about meeting with Golden now... I think Momma was left out of the loop close to the end and she is ****ed as **** about being cut out...

When he initially paused before his announcement Monday, in my head i was thinking, "I honestly don't think this kid knows where he wants to go."

Then Newberg later posted that AC picked Arkansas literally 30 seconds before getting asked where he'll attend college.

My gut tells me Collins ends up at Miami.

Is he really meeting with Golden? STFU!

Since it is a dead period, he can't have a face to face meeting with the coaches,

You sure? You telling me that a kid couldn't hand deliver his signed LOI if he so wished? That would constitute as a meeting and surely seems like something that could be done.

Like how coaches aren't allowed to call kids but if kids call the coaches during dead periods its okay.
