8 Days Out From December 4th

Well 1murhurricane did mention yesterday that miami turned down some kids that would have landed us in the 5-7 range because they thought they could get better ROI in the portal.Dmoney has also said they are going after younger portal targets with multiple years to play. We'll see how this plays out soon.
These class rankings can be a little misleading. Two years ago we had the #8 class. If we had landed Cormani it would have been #3 or #4 depending on service, composite etc. We’re #10 in the on3 and 247 composite team scores (not sure if they are the same). If we add two flips we’re safely in the top 10. Pickett would move us up a lot. Mario definitely cares about the rankings so could see us upping some deals to get us there. I’m also pretty confident we’ll be top 10 in one of the rankings services so he’ll spin that one pretty hard.

Nobody on this site saw Hayden Lowe coming..that guy literally confirmed his commitment to USC 24hrs before flipping to us. For anyone to think there isnt alot of action going on behind the scenes..you at this point just want to complain and are bored at home because you have the week off for Thanksgiving. Go to the cigar bar or better yet go to the strip club for $5 lunch. lol.

The other thing about strictly focusing on the portal by the way…

Who spent big money on the portal last season? Us, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Ole Miss. Maybe you can include USC in there but eh, not on the same level.

This portal cycle, you have to add a ton of bag-heavy teams to the list.

Auburn and Oklahoma undoubtedly will go all in for success. Add Florida. Add LSU because the Kelly HS recruiting is blowing up in his face. Add Michigan. Add Alabama. Add Texas A&M. Heck, even FSU will be desperate. Georgia will always be intrigued. You can keep teams like ND and Tennessee around as they’re always good for a few high prized portal guys.

This will really put “recruiting” to the test. What I mean by that is it’s going to be primarily centered around $$$. In reality, it’s going to be a bag war to bring in all the positions you guys think we need - QB, WR1, CBs out the wazoo, safeties, DL, etc.

I don’t doubt our bags, but I do think it’s going to be a lot more difficult to reload than people are making it out to be.

Sooo many **** mopers on this site. Mario is absolutely working behind the scenes and from everything he has shown during his time here, no one should be questioning his ability to close.

Curious who do you guys think we close on?

Where do certain targets go if not Miami?

And lastly, where do we finish (for now, until February is finalized)?

For frame of reference, as of today:

12th-ranked class at 249.34, 23 commits

13th in average rating per recruit at 89.96
Pickett, at least one of the LBs, Carter and another complete surprise that Mario seems to always deliver.

The real question is, did Auburn and Florida just rob a bunch of banks and are throwing around crazy NIL money?

If we win the next one & then win ACCCG... when is signing day for these guys? Would like to think we win next 2 & get #3 ranking in playoffs that would help us finish/flip into the close.

Early signing day December 4th-6th (most kids will sign on the 4th).
ACC title game is December 7th.
Next signing day is February 5th, 2025.

It's the same as FA. It's about getting good guys for low money over the big guns for big money.
