2025 NFL Pro Day. Monday 3/24

Bottom line on X....

will it cost him his career? no
will he get a chance in a camp to prove himself? Yes
will it cost draft stock? Yes
will it cost him $$$? Yes

All can be true
4.8 is WILD played himself by running but Ability to get open, Route running, IQ, creating seperation, strong reliable hands, as long you possess those attributes as a slot you'll succeed, X showed all in spades at the p4 level so as a betting man Ill take him to have a Decent or better NFL career especially if he ends up with Cam.

Yeah these guys were 3 star recruits for a reason

If you want 4.4 WRs that are NFL prospects we gotta land 5 stars stating the obvious
247 had George just outside of four star range but his composite ranking was .9257

The point is a fast time would have helped. It appears you agree. Maybe he isn't as fast as we believe and in that case skipping the event is the right decision.
Oh i agree. I just think there are levels to it. Obviously if ANYONE yesterday ran a 4.4 or better it improves draft stock. I am just questioning how fast he would have ran realistically and how the risk vs. reward.

X has been talked about a ton but he must have thought he needed the 40 time to help him get drafted. Only logical explanation.

I dont think Arroyo needs it to be drafted day 2. I do think this is a slow TE class, I dont think any TE ran better than a 4.6. I remember Kittle's class being faster, think he and a few others were in the low 4.5s, maybe evan engram hit a high 4.4 but its rare. Basically I think in hindsight it was the right call as I dont see him running a sub4.5 and anything higher than a 4.6 likely hurts his stock.

1. Have been getting calls for almost a year from a trainer to take my daughter to bomarito.
If that’s the best they can make X run…. I’m not picking those calls up.

2. El O FCKNG ELLLLL!!!!!!! Did adidas really lose cam……… to under armour??!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Jeeeehhhhzzzzusssss!!!!!!

Please get out of this contract!!!!

Evan Engram is a great example of someone that bolstered draft stock. I thought Arroyo was a low 4.5 guy which would have been fastest at the combine by a mile. In reality he probably isn't, but who is the last Miami HS recruit to run a fast time? Dorsett?

Not you at all man. I like the pick up at the time of the pickup because we got worked again early in the portal on QBs.

But I can see groundwork being laid about his work ethic and I know where it will go as the season goes on…

Alright, sorry for being so sensitive, lol. Believe it or not, I like the pickup better than Mateer. Far better than the Duke kid we also passed on. We'll see. I also thought Howard was a 1B to Ward if we had to go that route, and while he did win the national championship, I think it's more than obvious Howard is a vastly inferior QB. I don't see that with Beck. Allowing for 1 hair-brained interception every other game, I think the guy is the goods at QB. Just want him to be more of a (publicly visible) leader.

Depends what you meant by fast 40...
Mallory ran a 4.54 40 at combine
Redwine and Michael Jackson ran 4.45 at combine
Ivey ran 4.46 at his pro day....

Imagine spending extra resources to tell you something that was obvious 6 months ago
When making the decision on franchise QB, which is the biggest decision any team makes, it's in everyone's best interest to have as many meetings as possible.

Worked again early in the portal on QBs.... Coming off a season we landed Cam Ward in the portal and now Beck lol... Just say Mario has done excellent in portal at QB lol

"Slot merchant" where do people come up with this crap?

This ain't Wake Forest anymore, he's gotta outrun the best athletes in the world now. Doesn't need a 4.2, but can't be 4.8 slow either
He has like the highest slot usage rate of anyone in the draft, so yeah he's absolutely that

According to David Lake:

Restrepo: 4.81
Jacolby: 4.6 range
Meesh: 4.7
Porter: 4.65

At a Pro Day no less. We need an injection of speed at the skill positions.
I already knew Meesh was going to run a terrible 40. Our whole secondary looked slow chasing explosive plays. I'm telling you, Mario or whoever is on staff needs someone that has an eye for speed.

Get the fastest guys on tape, put a board together and see which one out of all the fastest guys are on top of your board.

Cam made a handshake deal with X to give him some of that sign on bonus to tank the 40 so they can be reunited once he is an UDFA

In all seriousness, whoever let X run that 40 needs to be fired. When they were practicing he had to be regularly around the 2 times he posted yesterday. Just not smart

I know Dorsett was up there. Did Artie Burns run well? I think he was low 4.4 but we had a lot of 4.4 range guys... Stevenson as well I think was in the 4.4 range, Mike Jackson was; Homer 4.4; Redwine 4.4; Berrios 4.4; JT4 4.4; Coley was 4.4; Corn Elder 4.4

Other good times, Mallory was a 4.52; Ivey was a 4.6; Jaelen Phillis was a 4.52; I think Adrian Colbert ran like a 4.25 at the pro day. But yeah that blistering 4.3 low 4.4 speed has not been around Miami in some time.

Mallory may be a decent comp in terms of general comparisons. Hurt a lot, more of a receiving TE that ran routes but I do think Arroyo is a much MUCH better blocker. Lookin at their draft profiles:

Mallory: 6'4 1/2; 239 lbs, 32 1/4 arms and 9 3/8 hand. Prospect grade of 5.8; 4.54 40; 1.59 10 yd split, 36 inch vert, 20 on the bench 75 athletic score;

Arroyo: 6'5; 250 lbs; 33 inch arms; 10 inch hand; prospect grade of 6.24, 22 reps on the bench, 85 athletic score.

Obviously Mallory went in the 5th round so I think that aligns with most of our day 2 projections for Arroyo.

tell me our best WR didn’t run a 4.8

Dammit mane we not back
In the history of this program!! So based on this comment DA U never was. Some of ya'll need to use logic. Eye test Strep will be fine. Run fast or catch the **** ball?...ask Gawja if they Strep would of made a difference for them last year!!
