Oh i agree. I just think there are levels to it. Obviously if ANYONE yesterday ran a 4.4 or better it improves draft stock. I am just questioning how fast he would have ran realistically and how the risk vs. reward.
X has been talked about a ton but he must have thought he needed the 40 time to help him get drafted. Only logical explanation.
I dont think Arroyo needs it to be drafted day 2. I do think this is a slow TE class, I dont think any TE ran better than a 4.6. I remember Kittle's class being faster, think he and a few others were in the low 4.5s, maybe evan engram hit a high 4.4 but its rare. Basically I think in hindsight it was the right call as I dont see him running a sub4.5 and anything higher than a 4.6 likely hurts his stock.
