2025 NFL Pro Day. Monday 3/24

Bottom line on X....

will it cost him his career? no
will he get a chance in a camp to prove himself? Yes
will it cost draft stock? Yes
will it cost him $$$? Yes

All can be true
The other issue is without a guarantee (things 4th rounders get) he's really easy to just cut and move on from. Is he a coverage guy on KO/Punt? A KR/PR guy? Hope he learns how to scallup and finish in a hurry

While the 4.8(+) 40 time for Restrepo is really a negative for his draft status, I'm more shocked at his 5'10" height measurement. I stood next to him after the Cal game. I'm 5'11'/6'0" when standing on a phone book. I thought Restrepo was 5'8" AT BEST while seeing him in person, 5'7" was what I told my kids when they asked me how I tall I thought he was. In fairness, it was post-game and dark, but I was sober as a nun and he was 3 feet away from me.

I also wish him a long and successful NFL careeer. I'm simply surprised at the numbers like the rest.

My take on X: We all knew he wasn’t going to light up the 40 but pretty much everyone thought he’d run a faster time. My question is, at any point during the season did anyone think X looked slow during a game? When I say slow, I don’t mean getting caught by a DB slow but running as fast as the average defensive end slow. It’s really hard to average 16 yards per catch when you’re slow.

?; didn’t Ward sign an Adidas NIL deal?

If so, all I’ve seen is him rep Under Armour, including the socks he wore today at his Pro Day.
Well, I spoke on how Adidas was all Cam Ward until they signed Hunter; then Ward literally became an afterthought which was bull ****, but typical of them. They’ve always been a front running company. They threw a bag & a half to secure Hunter, including giving him his own line once it was determined he was the front runner for the Heisman.

So maybe Ward & the fam was like deuces.

voiceover by the future face of the league? 👀

His biggest question mark is health. You think it's smart to show he still isn't healthy? That's a rough take my guy.
hes out there running routes and catching the ball and looking better than most wrs in n out of breaks, id let u figure it out.

Him at 80 percent looked better to me than every guy except Warren.

Not that rough a take when he out played the te's he was competing with on a daily at the sr bowl in front of these same nfl guys.

The same posters betting against X are probably the same posters who said he should start out at Strong Safety and not WR when we recruited him out of Deerfield.

If there is one player I am not worried about this messing with his mental and him using this as fuel its X....the guy has a born deformity that messed up his cheek..he was a 3* out of Deerfield and was an afterthought even though he might have been the best all around player on that state semifnal Deerfield team that had like 10 P5 kids..(im sure Macho can co-sign this)..came in with a WR class where most didnt take him seriously and didnt think he would be a contributor..and now hes run a horrible 40 at the pro day..

Darkness is ABSOLUTELY his ally...he wasnt adopted by it either..he was born into it. Definitely wouldnt bet against him. Good luck to the kid and wish him nothing but the best.

Agree. Here are two guys who know. One of them is Ran Carthon, former GM for the Titans. He talks about what is discussed in the draft room, etc.

Starts at 14:33 talking about Restrepo.

We will see next month. I think running a good time would have improved his stock. This is a deep TE class so anything to set himself apart would have been great.

Here are the facts. It was near the end of the 3rd Quarter. Miami was driving in plus territory. Game was tied 28-28. Syracuse had never led in the game.

Restrepo fumbles, it's picked up and returned for a TD to give Syracuse their first lead 35-28. The Dome was rocking. Miami never led again in the game.
Syracuse fumbled leading into that possession. Also we allowed 42 points. And X had 150 yards, leading the game.

Certainly a bad mistake that had big consequences. To say the game was on him would be a bit much.

I mean he’s going to be drafted at best 3rd, and at worst 5th regardless what he ran.

Warren and Loveland are the top 2. Arroyo, Taylor, Fanin, and Ferguson are the next 4. Helm is probably after.

Maybe but NONE of our guys ran fast 40s, maybe they just watered the artificial turf or turned the AC on extra high and had a headwind....

If Arroyo didnt even work out because of a "nagging injury" I agree it is a bad look but he just didnt do the bench and 40 from what I could tell, he ran routes and caught passes and did some individual drills. Also he knows his 40, he is likely fast for his size but I am assuming he would run in the 4.5 range, maybe a low 4.5 would be best case. Would a low 4.5 propel him into the 1st round? maybe but I dont think so. I always saw him as a day 2 guy. Maybe that time bumps him from 4th round to 3rd, I just wasnt seeing such a phenomenal time where it really shot him up. As you said he has the "injury" label and that will hold him back more than a good 40 will propel him forward but I think a bad 40 could hurt him. As of right now I see him in the top 4 rounds.

NGL I thought he looked pretty slow this year and I don’t think that NFL teams will see anything that counters his 40 times on the GPS. Speed was never his game. What I appreciate was that he was a master technician given his limitations. Extremely efficient, developed very strong hands and play strength to win tough catches and break tackles. Necessary when you can’t consistently separate on routine routes or run away from defenders. Got schemed open a lot but always reliable. Watched this year’s highlights and you don’t see a gear that makes you question the 40 times.

Agreed. Throwing that highlight of him hitting what was it…. 21.6? That was pretty compelling

Probably better to leave some of it to mystery like we saw X should have done

George did pretty well right? Don’t remember him being a 4.4 guy out of high school
Yeah these guys were 3 star recruits for a reason

If you want 4.4 WRs that are NFL prospects we gotta land 5 stars stating the obvious

The point is a fast time would have helped. It appears you agree. Maybe he isn't as fast as we believe and in that case skipping the event is the right decision.

Arroyo looked perfectly fine running routes later for Cam. He didn't want to run the 40 and was smart not to. Something was up with the turf.
