2025 NFL Pro Day. Monday 3/24

On God...

I would've just said he's been rehabbing a sprained ankle or some sh*t.
Or even just have some kind of PR type statement about how he doesn’t need to run the 40, his tape speaks for itself (which it does) yada yada yada. His agent could have handled that stuff, that’s what they get paid for. He has a lot of tape and a ton of production, I think he could have gotten away with skipping the 40 to some degree. Some teams would still would have dropped him some spots, but now every team has that 4.8 marked next to his name in their spreadsheets.

Again, not bashing, I just want X to get picked as high as possible and get his bread. And you can separate what he did as a Cane and his career here and what he did at his pro day, two different things. At the end of the day, pro days and combines are just guys running around in tights. He plays much faster than his measured time and I think he’ll have a nice solid career so his 40 will be forgotten.

Question - did Nike sign most of the WRs and TEs to shoe deals? Nobody had adidas on which I thought was a bit strange. Was very interesting to see or maybe folks like Nike cleats better. Just curious.

Lastly - hopefully Carson Beck was there to see this showing and maybe motivate him a little bit to see the progression and growth Cam had in the program. (Granted he might be the most motivated guy but had to be pretty cool to see the amount of NFL personnel there today and the energy in the building)

Cam was 1/1 in terms of professionalism. even at UGA, beck liked the spotlight. just hope hes healthy and close to his 2023 season

So everyone clowns pro day 40 times when they’re a few tenths too fast (vtech) but then says they’re gospel when x runs it. He’s been the most reliable receiver we’ve had in years and was even making plays with tvd. Dude even had ridiculous stats in the spring games.
Plenty of 4.3 guys not in the nfl right now.
Not saying he’s going day one. But dude will play n the league.
But the last few images teams have are the costly fumble at Syracuse in the last game of the season, skipping the bowl game, not running at the combine, and the running 4.8 at his pro day. Love X, but this is NOT how you get drafted in the NFL

I have concerns about Beck. But to be fair, Ward did everything right from jump. Beck is following a legend.

I do wish he would at least hold film review sessions with all his receivers, TEs, backs, even OL. Hang out more with the team more. Watch them run routes and plays, and interact with them. Maybe he's doing some of that, just not hearing much about it.

I'm happy for all these guys that made the most being here at Miami. Might be the last time they ever play football again and most will have successful careers.

Having said that, i hope we start making better evaluations. The team really looked slow last season and I hope we start to put speed as #1 priority when recruiting the skill positions.

If he plays 7-8 yrs in the league, no one is gonna remember or care about his 40 time.
Basically if he can produce the 40 will be a moot point in regards to his career trajectory. But he def played himself by running knowing how much NFL scouts/GMs drool over 40 times.

Here we go with this sh*t...

Nobody is bashing Restrepo.

Running a 4.8 is bad, there's no spinning that, it's just a flat out bad time to run at a Pro day of all places.

That's OL/DL times, not Slot WR's.

It's okay to talk about it & make jokes, I promise you, Restrepo's feelings won't be hurt, he'll be just fine.

And besides, if he got mad & decided to chase one of us, there's at least a 60% we'd get away...
💀 😵 😂 😂 ☠️ ☠️

Explains a lot.

I mean a WHOLE lot.
That was pointed out a while ago as a BIG reason we havent been succseful in the ACC n ppl talked up Stephen Morris & Brad Kaaya as our best guys since the last Natty, ***** depressing. Thank god for Cam, hopefully going forward all of this exposure will persuade elite QBs that you can come here and leave a Top draft pick @ the University Of Miami cause they certainly havent been convinced the past 20 years.

4th round if he's lucky. I think 5th - 7th is more likely. That 40 is a problem. Compare him to Julian Edelman who was similar in size at 5'9.5/5'10 200lbs. X is a great ball player but slow, very slow.View attachment 321787
Edelman did 10 times less with that 4.5 speed vs worse competition.

X was a 1st team AA this year.
He had a very impressive Senior Bowl as well.

Likely UDFA.

It's rare for Kickers to get drafted, unless they're really really good.

And even then they usually get picked in rounds 6-7.
He’ll be picked up UDFA; to be honest I’ve never watched someone and had more confidence in nailing it from under fifty.

That being said clubs don’t have room for two, if the strength on kickoffs is a legitimate table for concern, it plays, though I expect the kickoff rules dry that blanket.

Last point contrarian, those kicks under fifty don’t get more frequent at the pro level.
