Yep. Hence the reason I created this thread for last year's class and did it again for this class. It's an incredible mark to hit and puts you among the truly elite of the elite recruiters.
For our particular situation, the way the calculation works, we have too much "dead weight" at the bottom of the class for those huge fish to jump the overall number through the roof. For the record, I don't think the kids ranked low are dead weight, some of them can and probably will turn out to be starters here, I'm talking strictly mathematically. The formula sees we have a huge class and there are more 3-stars than most teams at this level have.
For example, Taint has a 23 man class right now, which is close to the old 25 man limit, so a decent sized class I'm sure they'll add to, and they have FIVE 5-stars as well as 13 other 4-stars, and they still aren't quite at 300.
So yes, 300 is an insane number to reach and I've said it a million times in these threads, I don't actually expect Miami to get there, certainly not consistently, but it's a ceiling target to talk about. Getting even close in back to back or potentially three straight years just explodes your program with talent and gives you such a massive advantage over almost everyone you're going to play.
