I agree w/ ur point, hence why I said it’s slightly closer, but not by much.

People love the overpay excuse, yet in reality there’s no such thing. If someone is being offered X amount for a job, and X amount is the going rate… then X amount is THE number.

Its not just NIL, it’s every business ever. Sure you could hire someone cheaper, but you getting 3 star work when you don’t want to pony up.

Yeah they got slapped around last cycle. **** Acheampong was one of their top 2 recruits and we took him like some lunch money

A lot of teams that did well last cycle are struggling and vice versa

“Market correction” I believe Lance said. Makes sense (though there’s a lot of factors)

Overpaying is relative to what other offers are on the table and what that money can be used on other players of similar caliber.

If a player had one offer for $3M yet everyone else offered $1M and you could get someone comparable for $2M, yes matching that $3M would be an overpay.

I think it’s fair to say that NIL is so new it’s hard to find the right clearing price. I wasn’t even mad about Taint getting a couple guys earlier because I figured we’d adjust. But at this point in August that’s no longer an excuse.

People are like “OVERPAY” I’m like how do you explain this to someone? 😂
