2014 DT Khairi Clark

This dude is priority #1, 2 and 3

Sony, Lane and Cook is the flashy arm candy that everyone is excited about but Clark is like Oprah big, nasty, does all the dirty work and will make this institution lots of cash through lots of wins!

Agreed. What I love about Clark is he is the rare type of DT that seems to have the ability to play in any role: as a 3-4 NT, a 3 technique, etc.

He's got the size and strength at point of attack to be immovable, but also the explosiveness and mobility to penetrate and pass rush

love the nickname for him "this is our new DT.....Oprah"

He puts on weight pretty easy, in middle school he looked like a linebacker now he looks like an animal DT

FWIW he told my best friend - "I'd be verbally committed to Miami right now but I'm just waiting until signing day. They lead by far, the only school that could challenge them is Alabama and I would HEAVILY consider and might go there if they offered" - Cliffnote version of the text messages I saw

10 wins dammit

The only reason we aren't cleaning up is because Bama has won 3 out of 4, one of which was on our home field in South Florida, and we have been a mediocre program. Well it's time that comes to a stop. Knock off Florida and start 6-0, then let's watch the commits roll in.

I know man, I know. Win against Florida would be HUGE, recruits just care about wins and the program the direction is headed. They see the Hurricane rise we just need the wins. If we beat Florida and FSU our class would be looking just the way we want it to.

Less than ten wins=Al on the hot seat.

The expectation is 10-4 through 14-0. Bowl win is a must.

Whose expectation is this? I personally believe we go 9-3 plus/minus 1 in the regular season. But are the Vegas analysts or other experts out there confirming that? It would definitely be nice if so. I think we lost guys like Thomas, Cooper and A Young over the past 2-3 years entirely because of our W/L record. As long as we go 10-4 with a BCS or near-BCS bowl game, I don't think we lose these recruits again, especially with the playmakers being almost all local So FL guys.

That's my expectation based on what we did last year, and the players that returned. You don't see 20 starters return often at the college level and I expect it to benefit it us tremendously. I don't think Coley make a drop off for our offensive production and with how bad our defense was, we really can only get better. If our Defense puts in work and gains the necessary skills and strength/weight needed I think we will be fine. Our team has to execute though.

Its pretty clear Miami leads but I think its early for Clark especially since spring evals have not started yet and while there are a lot of factors in Miami's favor it will be a dog fight. I dont really care about what Clark thinks I would want to know what his mother thinks. I keep hearing he has a great mother so I am betting she will be the final decision maker.

Lets look back at last cycle. Everything had to go through Coley's coach so even when everybody was saying Coley was a FSU lean I didn't really believe it. The coach was the decision maker and we all knew where he wanted Coley to go. FSU couldn't even get a hold of COley the last week of recruiting. Collins decision was made by his head coach.

While everybody thought Bostwick was going to Miami his family had told the Florida staff for months that he would sign with Florida .

Anthony Moten looks like a DE not sure where he is going to end up.

His Mother and Father are season ticket holders for University of Miami home games. His mother had glowing things to say about Golden and the campus after the first junior day.

From Collins, he was heavily influenced by his coach but from south plant players he was 50/50 & the Kirkland situation did make him look at the coaching staff differently

Anyone know how his grades are?

Not the brightest, but he should qualify

holding a 3.7 GPA>..prob taking sat's and ACTs now..IF Miami wants him they will talk him into being ready for Jan..a kid like this with weight and size and some indicated out of shape...( he admitted his team was done in a loss)...Al and company cant wait until Aug to get this kid in shape....

Glory, Why comment if you don't really know how his grades are?

First, he has 2.7 not a 3.7 but I don't think that his gpa should be posted on every recruiting website unless he says it publicly. Second, TIFIW but my best friend is good friends with him, and they took all the same classes in middle school and told me that exact quote "not the brightest, but will qualify" He's not a stupid kid, but I'm talking sat/act/gpa wise.

Less than ten wins=Al on the hot seat.

Golden would need to completely melt down and become horrendous for the administration to put him on the "hot" seat. Lets not forget that this guy has put up with the NCAA debacle for almost 3 years now, and he had NOTHING to do with any of it. He could have walked away a long time ago, and again this past off-season. By staying through it all, he has much more leeway that you can imagine.

That said, I will be disappointed with less than 9 wins.

9 wins will be palatable if we are at least playing in ACC title game. Either way, I don't see Golden on the hot seat (and certainly I won't be calling for it) even if we only get 8 (which should not happen because God told me He is a Cane).
