2014 DT Khairi Clark

Gimme Clark and Moten and I forget all about Bostwick and Chief Keef...both are better prospects.

Clark is one of those rare defensive tackles that I can see playing very well, very early in his college career.

Clark definitely, but not so sure on Moten. Just my opinion, but I think he's only a good not great athlete and he's not a pass rusher either.....or really nasty for that matter (Clark possesses all of these traits imo fwiw).

I think he's just a solid DT prospect...nothing more, nothing less. I personally would like us to aim for some difference makers (Clark is definitely on of them).

People also need to realize DT is the position that needs the most time to get acclimated to the college level. So just because Grimble or Pierre for example havent dominated doesnt mean they aren't players. I agree misssing bostwick and bryant sucks but we need these guys in the program to take it to the next level even more.

While he wasnt dominant, Pierre was the most reliable and consistent DT last season. Grimble was a DE at first and was forced into early burn at DT b/c of poor depth.

I get real nervous remembering how similar quotes were thrown around (Cane lock, heavy heavy Cane lean, family ties, etc) regarding Botswick.

Its a fight, but I have faith we are finally going to nab a stud DT for the first time in what feels like forever!

Heard this kid was outta shape last season and had some trouble with conditioning. Hopefully that changes

Not saying Clark's gonna have a similar career, but how do you guys compare his tape to Forston's?

He's got a ridiculous film too....straight beast. Not that we didn't want or couldn't use Bostwick and Bryant...but this kid is better than both right now.

Yup and wait till the dude hits UTough. He will be a bull.

This kid was a must get before we struck out at DT this year, just makes him that much more important. Arguably the most important recruit in this class.

He's bigger than Forston, looks stronger too. Maybe not the great first step Forston had, but plenty good enough.

cane lock

One thing you learn in recruiting is that there is no locks in recruiting.

Another thing you learn in recruiting, there's exceptions to every "rule". Duke Johnson was a Cane Lock. Jordan Futch was a Cane Lock, and pretty highly-sought after at the time.

Unfortunately, the word "lock" gets thrown around too much by anonymous posters on a message board and there aren't really many "locks".

Different players. Forston was a 3 technique and Clark looks like the nose is in his future. Don't think Clark is as quick as Forston. Don't think Forston isn't as strong as Clark.

Forston wasted a ****load of talent. Hopefully that won't happen with the culture/environment that Golden will have around Khairi when he gets to CG

Really? I have bryant rated at the very top. That kid's soph film was just straight filth.

I think he & Clark are neck & neck physically for #1, but there are undeniable concerns with him as well.... even if you dismiss the constant ****ery of his recruitment, it's not a good sign when the senior film is a clear step down from junior film. He just seems like a prime candidate to mess up, and I felt that way long before he signed with FSU. If given the choice, I'd take Clark & Bostwick over Keith. I like Moten a lot but think he's a notch below those three *for now*.

He's also not as physically large....Clark just has a massive frame.

Agreed about Keith, and when facing good OL he struggled all week in the Army Bowl practices. What i like about Moten is that from the begining of his Jr year to the end you can see a clear progresion of improvement, if he continues to improve at that rate into his senior year....watch out! And after watching Clarks film...i see a legit game changer DT, best local film i've seen from at DT since Wilfork.

I didn't factor Bryant's other stuff into the equation. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the other issues, though. If I take that into consideration, it definitely changes things. With that said, if Bryant gets his head on straight (which is a big if) I just see a guy that can be about as dominant as it gets from the DT position.

Also, can anyone confirm the comments from the poster about Clark being out of shape.
