2014 DT Khairi Clark

At the Canes Basketball game against Clemson

He's literally at every game idc if his parents have season tickets you have to love a school if you're at every game

He's taking it all in and seems to enjoy the campus.... Weird part of it is that when it comes time for the kid to take his official visits, if he wants to go out of town for all five trips, our fickle fans will be up in arms...then bash the kid on twitter!

No kid is a must get??? Really?? LOL. Okkaaayyy.. I agree that not EVERYONE is a must get and I fall prey to the habit of calling 8 guys "must gets". But there are 2 must gets in this class. Khari Clark and Sony Michel. A class without one of the two could be considered disappointing depending on how well we replaced them. Lane isn't a must get per say because we got Coley this year. (If we had missed on Coley, the Lane would be a must get)

I didn't consider MT a must get last year after we got Alex Fig. But I did consider Alex Collins and Keith Bryant or Bostwick must gets.

If we miss out on a top DT again this year we are in some DEEEEEEEEEEEP ****. That my friends warrants the title MUST GET for Khari Clark. Sony is Sony. Nuff said.

say Miami missed on Clark but got Moten Holley & Valentine would Clark still have been a must get?

It really doesn't matter i mean the parets have probably seen the campus more then he has so what real reason will the official be? With that said i think they will want to go because the family loves UM and will want to go even if its just to show love to the program and Clark more then likely would take it because he's going to want to be wine and dined by us since he realy enjoys being at UM

It depends on if Clark is a program changer at dt because i remember Nick Fairley being the only good payer on the Auburn defense and leading them to the NCAA title

must gets are subject to our needs and their talent, and just like with all recruits, they can't be determined till a year or 2 later. I would concede that their aren't many, but Duke was definitely a "must get"!

As of right now he's a must get. #1 DT on our board at a major position of need.

We definitely NEED a big time, disruptive DT that would change the dynamic of our defense and if Clark is that guy, then yes he is a must get

Farley was also a 3 star OL recruit out of high school who went to JUCO . Dline you want good players in bunches I would take those 3 over 1 Clark any day of the week.

I'm sure the staff will do whatever they can to land Clark. Calling a kid a "must get" just sets everyone up for something like 2013's NSD... people getting limp wristed about some high school player not picking their school.

Pretty sure AG & Co. know they need some DTs.

Just because you don't like calling a recruit must get doesn't make it any less true.

Unless a recruit comes with a guarantee that he will solely be responsible for a national championship, "must get" is an arbitrary term. Especially when it is thrown around as often as it is.

I wasn't talking abou Fairley coming into college just the impact he had. I would take those 3 over 1 Clark too just like id take 3 of the stud receivers in the state over just 1 Lane but we also know the staff wants multiple dlineman its not all in on just Clark I just used airley as an example that a dominate dlineman is huge on every team

It works both ways.

The same way that you refusing to acknowledge a player as a must get-doesn't make them any less of a must get; someone calling a player a must get-doesn't make them a must get.

The bestway to explain is Matt Thomas was a "must get" but when he trolled everybody all the fans looked at the players on the roster and said that there's legit talent and the players want to be here so we got over it . I agree te term is used losely but the potential to me for Clark and the fact he seems like he really enjoys being here and his family loves UM you just think that he should commit here

DT is a priority. Clark, being one of the top DTs in the country, is a priority.

Calling him, or any other player, a must get suggests that if Miami doesn't land him, the class would be a failure.

I prefer to look at the totality of a class, rather than concentrate on an individual. That's just the perspective I have. No one is denying the importance of landing top players at positions of need, especially in Miami's own backyard.

That's where we differ i think a "must get" is by depth chart and potential impact and that's why i never got upset that Thomas and Collins left because i know the talent is here and in the class we just got but not 1 player to me in a ecruiting class is a make or break for a class

There are different types of must gets.

When Collins left there wasn't depth and talent. We had bodies but they all had/have question marks. He was a must get because of his talent and potential impact.

Thomas was a different type of must get because he was not only in our backyard, but from all accounts he was a transcendent talent.

With Collins i always said there were guys all over maybe not as talented but could do the job with our beast offensive line so i wanted him but i wouldnt lose my mind. Thomas is great but I also have seen talents like him who never get it and the way he did his recruitment makes me think he can be another guy who won't be as good as we thought and plus if the dline steps up then you can find linebackers that makes impacts

If we dont land Khari Clark..It better be a **** good reason why. I dont care who else we get. Clark is a must get.
