2013 TOP WEIGHT ROOM PERFORMERS

I had a thread locked about this topic, but are the DB's as slow as the CS numbers show? Only Crawford and Elder under 4.58

Factor in the vagaries of hand-timing, possible poor reporting of the information by whatever sloppy website reported it, and a lot of guys not participating, and you need to take that list with a grain of salt.

makes sense especially Burns and carter probably didnt run, but the LB's were all under 4.7

Boy I swear, we sure know how to give guys labels based on how they look getting off the bus.

"Henderson is a #1 pick. He's a 6'8" five star!"
"Figs is an animal. Haven't seen him play yet, but look at him, he's gonna kill people."

Then you got a guy like Linder, who has far less fans than Henderson, and he's our best lineman and strongest man on the team at 6'6". Nobody talks about this guy going in the first round though. It's always Henderson, who honestly hasn't done jack since he's been here. His career has been severely pedestrian.

Sorry, this is just wrong.

He may not have performed up to the hype that he came in with, but as long as he's been on the field, Henderson has been solid.

If not for a meaningless, throwaway sack at the end of the FSU game, he would have shut out a 1st round defensive end.

Pedestrian compared to the hype. Nothing wrong about that at all.

It would behoove some of you to actually watch some tape. I have a former player on the OL so I watch them very closely. He doesn't dominate. He doesn't maul people. He plays RT instead of LT, which is where you would expect a "future 1st rounder" to play. And when Feliciano was at RT Henderson couldn't beat him out.

Does he suck? Absolutely not, but he hasn't been the all-world five star. He's maybe...maybe...the 3rd best lineman on the team. He never grades out amongst the top-3 after games either.

And he'll still likely be the top lineman drafted that is currently on the team (depending how Flowers develops).

Which has nothing to do with him being good for the Miami Hurricanes.

I'll take a friendly wager though. Linder before Henderson.

I'll take that bet. Send me a pm and we can figure it out. Nothing harsh. Say a C Note?

I think everyone should take all these numbers with a huge grain of salt. They are pretty meaningless to me.

I think some of the numbers for the young guys can be very telling. If you can squat almost 500 pounds when you are 18, you could probably squat 600 by the time you are 22 and I love to see big #'s from incoming freshmen. Really shows they are walking onto the field with the proper mindset.

A lot of credit goes to the staff but Duke Johnson and co. really set the tone when they came in. Seemed like they were pushing each other to work harder than some of our juniors and seniors were.

Very impressive all around.

I meant the 40 numbers but forgot to put it in there.

Huh?

It's a tweet from the new Miami sports nutrionist (the Recover, Refuel, Rebuild guy).

Right. I just saw the # posted earlier that we went from 7% body fat to like 12%. How does that fit in with that tweet?

Those body fat %'s in this thread must be wrong and he's just clearing it up.

I'll believe the doctor.
They sure don't look like a bunch of fatties to me.
I wonder what else was wrong in the numbers.

Linder isnt going ahead of Henderson my boy.

Scouts are gonna see that behemoth, especially after he does 2 months with a training staff specifically for the combine...and pop in tape of him just from that FSU game and fall in love....dude has went against some studs while here and held his own.

As big as he is...he is a finesse tackle...he has good feet and long *** arms...he has trimmed down...and has that hype behind him..dude just has to play up to his abilities his yr and he still is first rd..top of second the latest.

Linder is my boy though, dude literally can play EVERY position ont he ol...

My fav to watch in the run game is your boy Feliciano...he straight up pancake fools..i still laugh when Jernigan boomed him last year though.

Seantrel Henderson reminds me of Anthony Davis from Rutgers. He will blow up in the pros.

One thing you can't knock about Seantrel is his on-field effort. He finishes plays.

Seantrel will feast this year facing a decent schedule. He needs to follow his technique and let his play speak for itself. I believe in him, think he understands and the light bulb will click.

I just wanna "toot my own horn" and say I was one of the few on here that was defending S. Henderson when everyone was trashing em....

He is a 1st round lock, especially after he goes even harder, after the season, to train for the NFL combine. Every time he's been in a game all ive seen is the player in front of him become a non-factor..... and that was during the times he was going through health issues and outside issues that never kept him fully invested in the team. Now that all of that is behind him, Henderson is going to shine this year.

I hear you. You make good points, but I'm still saying Linder first. Like you said, dude can play every spot on the line. He's 6'6" and he's strong as an ox. He's gonna tear up the combine. Probably gonna be the strongest guy there...at 6'6".

And LOL @ Mongo gettin hip tossed. Jernigan only did that cause Mongo was kickin' his *** all game. Dude was frustrated.

Then you're not watching close enough. I've seen him get beat around the edge a few times, and I've definitely seen him fail to lock onto his man during running plays and allow him to slip off and make a play.

ok i was exaggerating with the "every time" part but i'm just sayin when it comes to pass protection.... Henderson has excelled. I always thought our O-line, overall, didnt do a good enough job, last year, when it came to getting a consistent push and creating holes for the run game.
