I see some areas for improvement defensively. We got burned on slips and back-doors all game, guys are too involved playing their man when they should be playing the passing lanes in help, and we also got caught watching the ball in the air when we should have been rotating in help. We got away with it against a D2 team, but these areas need to be tightened up asap. On a positive note, we were handsy defensively and forced a ton of tips and loose balls that we converted into points in offensive transition.
Wooga impacted this game in every facet. He forced steals and scored in transition, moved well off the ball, knocked down some open shots, drove the ball to the rim with intention, and we saw glimpses of him trying to create his own shot off the dribble. Lots to be excited about with his development. What I enjoyed most was how active and aggressive he was on the boards.
Also, this team is next-level when Norchand Omier is on the floor. In the second half when he was resting, our lack of size in the front court really showed. Come ACC play, he'll need to stay out of foul trouble bc we'll need him.
