He was targeted TEN times with Louisvlle connecting on 8. 1 of those 2 PBUs could've been called a PI. It wasn't, but I've seen less flagrant called.
Bigger point I'm trying to make is that he is 100% NOT playing the pass decently and as a result, is being picked on by opposing offenses.

Josh Pate, who I like a lot said it perfectly 2019 LSU or 2023 LSU (heisman candidate / winner, dangerous across skill positions). One defense stepped up and one defense was azzzzzz

I mean you keep moving your argument. You brought up manny diaz for some reason lol. We had better players last year for guidrys system to run and manny had better players those years to run his system. I’m also young enough to remember mannys last 3 years he got dunked on. So by your logic put our players currently in mannys system they still get shredded not play better

My original point, the players are put in a good spot if you can’t do basic fundamentals like know a hs coverage assignment or tackle what else can you do. You arm chair coaches ask him to play more zone he did. Try again chief.

I do feel like he lighten up on trying to be cute on defense and staying in more base packages.

My original point was that you were making a Golden level argument and that a change in coaching can go far. My example was Manny.

Goldens "scheme" if executed would have been good. Or that was the accepted argument at the time. Manny takes the same players and immediately gives us a dominant defense for his entire tenure as a DC.

Guidrys defense wasn't that great last year. He had a few games. Did well with injuries to adjust. He also got cooked in games without injury problems as an excuse.

This year he is getting cooked still.

I've not moved the goal post at all. You're just a little bit retarded.

He's above good...but he's not great or one of the best in the game. However, I know its taboo here on CanesInsight...but these eyes see the players taking ****** angles, pinching and leaving their lane, missing arm tackles, and honestly some of these dudes are flat out slow.

Maybe it's Guidry's guidance to the position coaches to have them do this. However, it looks like boneheadedness by some of our boys, respectfully.

Im hopeful because a lot of it can be tightened up and maybe starting this week we can keep those drives that end in 7 because of buffoonery to maybe 3 if say...instead of our nickel back getting sucked into a pile of players and pinching leaving wide open green if the RB can make it outside (spoiler...he does)...that player keeps the integrity of the play and should RB1 bounce outside, maybe he can at least slow him down or cut upfield closer to the sideline so it's not a tud. Idk...maybe. perhaps not biting on a screen and the TE takes you for a ride. Things of that nature.

Do that alone...just do your job...and we're blowing the entire nation out.
 
Glenn Cook is better than #1 and that's saying a lot.

We're not benching him, but we do need to rotate guys in more. He's extremely heavy to the ground. He might be a great leader with good instincts, but he's average at best sideline to sideline and tackling.

Brother you have the reading comprehension of a candy necklace. I addressed your Diaz slurping I’ll dumb it down for you our players would not be better in Diaz scheme.

Crazy to arbitrarily pull his only good 3 years coaching but avoid his trash at his last years of Miami Penn st and Texas but I’m retarded I guess. it’s better than having a manny poster above my bed.

It's arbitrary to pull his 3 years as a defensive coordinator that what's so bad it immediately got him two back-to-back head coaching jobs?

You realize his last year's at Miami he was the head coach right? And it's a whole another ball game even though he became the primary play callar at the end.

You understand that this is a point about the difference a coach can make? It wasn't a point about whether the current players would be better in his scheme or not. You also understand that that was explicitly spelled out that it was a point about a difference a coach can make even with the same players that struggle from year to year?

You're going to die on a hill talking about Manny hate when it's not about that. You are talking about reading comprehension correct? You have a memory that goes beyond hating him as a head coach, right? I'm trying to look for a way to give you some kind of credit as a competent human being. The way to say I can respect your ideas. You're not making it easy.

You make a very good argument. And I'm happy to blame the players too because they clearly are not in position.

But it's defense had some bad games last year as well. It's that's good games which you know gives hope and all. I've got to have some faith that we've recruited some players that kind of can do something though. Maybe we completely missed there. But that also goes back to the coaches.

IMHO a solid ballplayer and big upgrade who has struggles in coverage.

Well to have a constructive conversation I don’t think he’s trash but he’s not elite. You’re right He definitely can do more to make it easier. Just pointing out the plays are there to be made.

Just didn’t think the donofrio was a fair comparison becuase he wasn’t even cognizant on what he was even trying to run. I just have his dumb impression on the sideline firmly still in my head lol.

Fair enough. Maybe you're right.

This is the week for that turnaround I think. I used my last vacation week for this game. High hopes.
 
I hate it to break it to everybody, but there is currently no help on the way at any back seven position except maybe Quan at safety. You might need to get used to it.

Yea we know 7 shouldn't be on the field. Guidry said he expects Zaquan to play more snaps next week. Hopefully we start to see more 20 and less 7 out there.
