#1 is a liability(the one on D)

Honestly he put the guys in positions to make plays and did play more zone. Idk what else he can possibly do lmao
That sounds like a Golden excuse. My mind always goes back to what Manny did immediately with Doritos guys.

Guidry has good games with his schemes but not good seasons. Probably isn't a good safety coach either.

He was only marginally better last year than the guy he replaced though lol
yea but the level he playing now is even worse.. He was expected to be a dependable player like last year, now he is being hunted to point he might be unplayable.

Well yeah even I didn’t expect this. Sucks cause even a middle of the pack defense probably gets us a natty

I literally just posted this in another thread, but I just HAVE to believe Kiko is playing through an injury.

I watched 2023 tape from him last year and he looks like a totally different player. So much more decisive and explosive. Even when he would overcommit last year and be “wrong” in his diagnosis, he’d still be able to create enough havoc to give others a chance to mop up.

He’s not doing that at all this year. Great example is on the 43 yard Isaac Brown TD — he’s right there with an open alley to the hole with a chance to take Brown one on one. He’s about to get sealed off by a blocker but instead of coming up to meet Brown, he freezes and gets spun around with a BUMP from the lineman who’s already delivered another chip on a DL.

Last year Kiko crashes down on that play and gets at least a hit on brown. There’s countless examples of him beating that seal block in 2023 and making a mess of the open hole and bringing down the RB.

There’s none of that this year. He’s hesitant, slow, and unwilling. Which leads me to believe it’s a mental issue caused by a physical ailment. I don’t know the dude, so I can’t speak on it with intimate knowledge, but that Isaac Brown play really crystallized things for me and you can see the same type of hesitancy across the board on the majority of big inside plays ever given up this year.

It’s really not an overplaying issue. He just isn’t bringing the juice that a player with his violent, downhill style needs to bring to be effective. But we know he has it; he put it on film all last year and it’s the main reason we wanted him back.

Hoping he returns more to form.

Is what it is. Solution isn’t on the current roster. Wish the scheme would be a little more aware of the limitations of its personnel. Play more conservative, give the d line more shots to have a drive breaker.

We ran drop 8 on one play and a player ran to a whole other side of field and vacated his zone for TD like his joystick was stuck or something.. Even when going conservative it doesnt matter when the players are THIS bad, there is nothing we can do..

Yeah I don’t think there’s a magical solution. I think if it takes the other team 12 plays to score instead of 8 we have more chances of them fumbling a snap or something.

I don’t really understand what has happened.

I just don't think Mauigoa should be starting for us. I understand he's a leader and he has experience. I just don't think he's athletic enough to play MLB in the modern game against all of these pass happy teams. He can't cover and is horrible at tackling in space.
If you are going to ***** and moan at least tell us who should be taking his spot and why?
