Center is the more interesting position if Matt Lee leaves. Rodriguez came in earlier in the year, but like if we were making a pure top 5 Olineman on roster assuming we get Bell, Rodriguez would probably not be in that conversation.

So I think we probably end up seeing Kinsler or McCoy competing for that spot. They’d both be on the larger end of the Center spectrum though.

Okunlola - Bell - Kinsler - Cooper - Mauigoa

(If the entire left side leaves)

I mean I guess Jalen River technically still has like 2 more years, so I could see him starting at Center lol. Like if Samson is good enough to be a starter I’d prefer him at Lt and moving Rivers wherever that 5th spot is… (competion between Bell and Kinsler at that point)

edit: god **** look at how absolutely massive that oline would be lol... Would literally be increasing current avg size of our OLine from the already massive 6'5" 318 lbs to 6'6.5" 329 lbs.

LT: Okunlola - 6'6" 300Lbs
LG: Bell - 6'8" 340Lbs
C: Kinsler - 6'6" 340LBs
RG: Cooper - 6'6" 350LBs
RT: Mauigoa - 6'6" 315LBs.

6th Man: McCoy - 6'6" 290Lbs

We have 3 edge’s committed, bring back Bain, Kelly, Wayne, and maybe Mesidor. We have bigger needs than that kid and not many spots left, don’t understand that one but I don’t understand a lot of our takes this cycle so whatever lol.
That kid should be a priority his hs sr szn film is crazy....dude is wayyyy underrated. We need a true SDE and thats what he is.
Either u dont push an kid goes to L-Ville and becomes an all acc defender and a thorn

Hope not, that’d be stupid IMO. He is a menace exactly where he is, leave him be. On some 3rd down packages then yeah, move him inside to get your best pass rushers on the field but that kid is an End, leave him alone.
Bain would be even better at 3tech imo it would be a great move, he’s just a baller at edge too.

Good thing about him is if u find a good enough edge u can move him, if u find a good enough dt u can keep him at edge either way bain will disrupt

With Bell, what would our starting 5 look like for next season.

Would Samon be a Guard?
That's a good question and I know Samson has been practicing at both positions. It will come down to competition. Samson to me is a natural LT so I would love to see him there. Plus there is no guarantee that Bell would crack the starting lineup next year.

Still, this is what great programs do. They stack elite talent then have the kids compete and watch the cream rise to the top. Bell would put this OL class over the top then adding these kids to the roster it's easy to see that we are going to build some amazing depth on the OL. McCoy, Okunlola, Kinsler, Bell and so on and so on etc......

I agree that Bain could be an incredible 3tech but I also agree with @htownkidd that Bain is fine where he is. I think what we are going to end up seeing is Bain move all around the line during games. The kid is just a prodigy! He is a man child! Dude is going to wreck shytt from everywhere on that DL and it's going to be glorious to watch!

We need to not pull an LSU re:Harold Perkins. Keep putting Bain in the position he's found success. Reminds me of when people questioned Diaz when he kept putting Rousseau on the inside, meanwhile Rous got majority of his pressures from the inside.

I agree with this. My point is that I see Bain as the type of rare talent that will dominate no matter where he is lined up. I'm not comparing the two but for the sake of an example of what I mean, Reggie White was that type of player. White could line up as a Nose Tackle or DE and it didn't matter. He would blow up anyone who was across from him.

Then there was Dan Morgan who spent his first 3 years at WLB IIRC. Then before his senior year he was moved to Mike. There was a lot of discussion back and forth prior to the beginning of that year on whether or not it was a good move but Morgan dominated.

What lsu did would be completely different tho, they moved perkins from dline to linebacker.. Bain is already taking snaps at 3tech right now and played both edge and 3tech in high school its not some crazy transition like yall think it will benefit him imo

You're preaching to the choir my friend! I don't think the Bain situation bears any resemblance to the the Perkins situation at LSU. I think Bain will move all over the DL during games and that will certainly benefit him in the NFL draft.

Good post. I love that lineup! The thing is that I just don't see Kinsler at Center. I think the best case scenario is for Rivers to stay and move to Center. I think Rivers could be excellent there and we all know how much the NFL loves OL with versatility.

You're right though. That OL would be absolutely massive! I also believe that Mauigoa is playing closer to 330 lb. He along with Samson were up to 340 before the season. Back to that massive OL, we are building the foundation of what will be an insane OL. We are going to be nasty! Just nasty!

McCoy is bigger than 290 and he’s the 6th man now and eat ahead of Samson. I’d pencil him at LT as of now

Rodriguez is going to start at C once Lee leaves.

And they're not recruiting Bell to be a G. Why the heck would you want a 6'8 mammoth like him to play G?

They're going to put Bell at T, either RT or LT. People seem to forget Samson is injuried and will need time to come back.

Was just going off the official roster listings.

He also has more experience than Samson who is also now injured. I know they like him… but he’s also simply not as talented. I think next off-season Samson will make a jump
