I am very confident that we are a match.

1. There is an obvious Columbus connection with Mario.
2. Kevin Smith is his coach and, in my opinion, the natural comparison for him as a player (not as heavy).
3. He provides a different dynamic than the other guys with his fluidity and running instincts. Chaney is the size/speed athlete and Knighton is the versatile explosive back.
4. Hometown pull.
5. Henry Parrish, Sr. and David Cooney were teammates and I heard from a source they may be related.

Ole Miss had one of the best running attacks in the nation with Ealy, Conner and Parrish forming a three-headed monster. I can see something similar here. Let's see how quick we set up that OV. Could be sooner than later.
While I agree, I just hope it doesn’t leave Thad completely as the odd man out and transferring. Would really like to see him get developed.

After watching more highlights of him and some film, I’d definitely take Parrish over Brown, and I expect Brown to transfer being the #5 back at best.

I agree all signs point to this being a great move . One thing I’ve noticed is Mario keeps tight lid on things never jumps the gun or show s his cards if he’s got something going down.

With all this going on about Parrish it could be even bigger behind the scenes.

Right now Mario is spinning plates with all that’s unfold seen and unseen obviously he has a high end motor and thrives off multitasking at mind blowing levels.

No news is awesome news till Mario allows the leak to happen for us all.

Loser mentality so who cares

Based on the eye-test and potential for an 18 year old to develop from a character standpoint, I hope Thad stays. That said, is there a sizeable upgrade over Burns (other than injuries)?
Loved Cody in high school (live in GA.), but unsure if he'll be better than a 3-4 in a decent backfield.

I hope we don't lose thad. We need a beast for the moments when a few contested inches or feet mean winning a collision with a 225+ lb linebacker with a head of steam and falling forward to move the chains or clinch 6. I know he got limited touches and the reasons were probably work ethic related, but he looked like a future stud to me in those touches if he can get motivated.

Natural RB but with non-ideal measurables. Exactly what was said about him out of HS. Definitely a great take for depth.

If he’s looking for more than 150 planned touches though this probably isn’t the place for him.

I think he can play here. I liked his highlight tape from this season. Clearly does not have standout measurables but picks up yards... reminds me a bit of Homer. Parrish is less physical and has more wiggle, same kind of height/weight body though. it's fringe NFL stuff but you can still be productive in college at that size if you're a naturally good back. Chaney is the only guy on our roster who I would say definitely has a better all around skillset than Parrish based on what they've done so far in college, but Don's health makes him hard to rely on.

there's no indication that Trevonte Citizen is all that serious about coming here so I don't know why that would be part of the calculation. in the extreme off chance that he does choose Miami, take both him and Parrish and let it shake out.

also, I think it's worth monitoring that as more kids enter the portal it seems like it's playing out less as a "true" free agency than it has in previous years, when there were fewer players available and fewer staffs open to the idea of playing the transfer game. this offseason it feels more like high school recruiting, with connections to coaches and proximity to home playing as much of a role as anything. Caleb Williams & Mario Williams likely following Riley to USC, Quinn Ewers going back home, Jaden Haslewood going to where his high school coach is now on staff, Kingsley Suamataia going back home, Noah Cain going back home, Jacob Cowing going back home, Max Johnson going to where there's an FSU connection, Tanner McCallister following his DC to Ohio St, all the ULL kids following Napier etc. of course there are kids who are still looking for where they can get playing time or Alabama who can just pull whoever they want, but I don't think it's a coincidence that Miami is being most heavily connected to guys like Parrish and Ladson who are from the city. it may be more like that moving forward and less like the first few years of Manny going into the portal and getting kids from all over the country, it's a different, more competitive game now.

Totally. I give zero f*cks if it's Brown, Thad, or Knighton...all the same to me. I'm on that alpha grind son!

Agreed. Anyone that wants to leave now is someone we don’t want moving forward anyways.

You think elite teams give a **** about who leaves their programs? We need to get back to that

Just think Stevenson left UGA and they just moved on and had a completely dominant D. That’s the level we need to find and I think we will!

I love Chaney and Rooster, but I want to see them average 5 yards per carry before we declare the RB room stacked.

Parrish was 5.3 last year on decent volume. Chaney is a career 4.6. Knighton was 3.9 last year. Too low for backs with their explosiveness.
Ehh... I think that has more to do with relative OLs, and system.. but if Parrish wants in, I'd welcome it.

Some smoke about an RB portaling out. Brown or Thad?
Based on what I think and see… I’m guessing Cody Brown. He just doesn’t look like a Cane and he’s gonna get passed up by Thad, making him a 4th string. Not to mention he’s the only back that will be a non-Floridian. And finally, the way he dipped out on Tennessee is what solidifies my thought on any RB leaving it being Cody.

Thad had some issues with entitlement and motivation..

We're going to have no problems landing elite RBs now and going forward now that we'll actually have a competent OL

There’s now 3 1,000 yard RBs on n the portal and y’all are choosing a small, slow RB just because he’s from here. Then you guys ask why we’ve lost the last 20 years.
I've said this before about other positions but just because those 3 1000 yard rushers are available doesn't mean Miami has a shot. So is Miami gonna spend time chasing RBs who haven't reached out and tell a guy who got plenty of power 5 carries hold on just for him to go some place else? The portal is different. Guys will let you know real quick if they have interest because they want to find a spot.
