It is weird how so many people take shots at Mario. Like Mario always is respectful of other coaches when he speaks publicy.

i mean people take more shots at Mario than Brian Kelly who we all know what happened at Notre Dame, James Franklin had that awful scandal at Vandy, but Mario players do great work in community do well in school, but other coaches and media treat him like media does Trump. Its weird really
I don't think he is necessarily disliked, just not respected. The one thing I've heard about Mario when he was at FIU and even at Oregon was he was a great recruiter and he works hard but he doesn't necessarily work smart. Too much indecisiveness when it comes to coaching hires and slow to adjust in game.

As we all know by now, Bill Belichick is now the head coach at North Carolina. On Friday, new North Carolina GM and former Oakland Raiders GM joined Christopher Russo for his weekly segment on Sirius radio. Lombardi wasted no time taking a shot at the Miami Hurricanes head coach, Mario Cristobal.

Lombardi was asked by Russo to give a rundown of the responsibilities with his new job title. While providing the description of various responsibilities, Lombardi said:

“That job will entail player evaluations, developing a grading system, building a team around what you want to become. That’s so important, you know. In college you have all these first round picks. Well, you still got to build a team. I mean, Mario Cristobal has been wonderful in recruiting, but they haven’t been able to get to the final 12. You got to build a full team, it’s not about winning the recruiting battle. It’s about making the team the best it can be. So, for me that’s the job.”

@Cribby
That's the same Mike Lombardi ***** *** that z Jason Kelce clowned in his famous super bowl parade speech.

**** **** Lombardick

Bruh!! He didn’t even sugar coat it!! Straight called Mario out!!! ****!! But if they can’t win games up there, this **** is gonna be funny as ****!!!!!

Number 1 offense in the country nothing to show for it
Year 3 no ACC chip appearance
No playoff appearance

But if you want to enjoy your participation trophy and Pop-Tart bowl, then enjoy

Lol! And if we were an SEC team we'd be in the playoffs. Some things are out of our hands.

We were 2-3 solid DBs and a good Mike LB away from being undefeated.

We were only 9 total points away from being undefeated.

We had the #1 Offense in CFB.

We had the best QB in CFB.

Every offensive position group balled out this year (every single one).

Only the curse of Addai in recruiting DBs and missing on some top DBs in the portal kept us from going undefeated this year…something UNC has likely never done in football & likely never will.

Hope we beat them down next time we play them.

imagine being a Lombardi, being given every chance to succeed because of your name, then failing your way to being the ******* UNC GM, then talking ****. He isn’t 100% wrong, but he’s absolutely a jackass.

Lombardi and Belichick are about to get an eye opening experience into what college football is today compared to the NFL….

I mean let’s put it this way Saban left college because of the **** show recruiting, the portal and NIL is becoming
I’m wondering if Bellicheat thinks he can be above all the recruiting stuff, let his “professional” organization handle it, and close with his NFL cachet. I do not think that approach will work well, especially in HS recruiting and particularly with Lombardi running the show.

I guess we’ll find out. But there’s a reason NE let him walk and no NFL team picked him up.

failed ex-Raiders exec.... Sounds legit.

Maybe coaches come at Mario because they understand that if Mario gets momentum behind the caboose like Butch did in his tenure, he isn’t leaving for an NFL job and we *might* see just a sliver of what it’d have been like. They don’t want to find out. People didn’t care for Butch either.

They will suppress Miami every which way they can (like Cam finishing 4th in the Heisman while he was arguable the single best player in CFB).

Joseph Goebbels would have proud of the propaganda machine that took over college football after Halloween.

With Lombardi in tow, I don’t feel threatened by Belicheat as much as I would have otherwise. Think they will have a hard time making inroads to recruting and developing talent there and Bill is not a spring chicken.

The shot would be fine from someone else, but Lombardi is a failure and pariah. The only thing keeping him relevant is his grandfather's name and his friendship with Belichick. For the last decade, he's been exiled to podcasts where he makes bitter rants and runs off co-hosts.

One of the reasons Belichick has been a disaster without Brady is because he keeps around flunkies like this fat idiot.

His grandfather is not Vince, btw

I could not have thought of a worse response. He should've kept that **** in the drafts.

Anyway, the crazy thing about this Belichik and Lombardi approach at UNC is, it's the same thing Arizona State and Herm Edwards tried to do.

It's not a novel or new concept.

Also worht mentioning, Belichik has never achieved anything worth talking about without Tom Brady.

I comment on his tweet and Dennis is in my dm’s *****ing about having Mario’s back. What a joke. We have miles to go with this nonsense.

Dennis, let’s stop collapsing in November, not lose to GT/Syr with the best player in college football because the defense can’t even line up, and, then, worry about what some clown at UNC says.

If Mario was to be feared by the rest of the college football world, we would be in the playoff and undefeated right now. His hit rate with high school recruits panning out here is abysmal. Honestly, I have no idea why Highsmith wasn't given total power as GM to scout and recruit personnel completely. Miami needs a true GM who is more decisive and intelligent with football moves than Mario.
