Kentucky DL transfer Keeshawn Silver will visit Miami tomorrow

With Notre Dame coming to the Rock on Labor Day Weekend, the Hurricanes know they need to beef up their front. The staff wasted no time in arranging a visit for former five-star recruit and Kentucky transfer DT Keeshawn Silver.

The 6-foot-4, 336-pound behemoth is scheduled to visit Miami tomorrow, December 11th. He's visiting the Florida Gators today, and he has plans to visit USC on Thursday. He will conclude his visits with a stop at Michigan on Friday and Saturday.

Keeshawn Silver originally signed with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the 2021 recruiting class. He was rated as the No. 31 player overall and the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation. Silver also played basketball and averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds per game. He then transferred from North Carolina to Kentucky.

During the past season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Silver recorded a total of 26 tackles and one sack. His standout performance occurred in week nine when the Wildcats faced the Auburn Tigers. In that game, Silver registered four tackles and a sack. He played 313 snaps overall this season. He earned a a sterling 80.9 run grade and a pass-rush grade of 73.6.

Don’t think it has anything to do with conference. When he transferred from unc he hadn’t played much in 2 years and no big schools was after him. He was in the portal a while the first time

I think you have to understand the position he played and what he was asked to do in the Kentucky defense. He ate blocks for other guys to make tackles. There probably wasn't 20 plays on the full season where he wasn't double teamed by a center and guard.

Bain would be the happiest to have him. Good luck defending both.

this. we have recruited the position well, but lost 4 of our highest rated DE recruits to the portal and only one of them actually saw any production here. the DL is incredibly overrated

He seems like a Darrell Jackson type. Big dude who doesn't live up on the field. 5 star DE that came out in the same class with Leonard Taylor. Only weighed in 230s during his junior year. This kid grew a lot. Hopefully we get him

Stuff I found while looking him up is Keeshawn lost his Mom to colon cancer at the age of 9. Raised by his Grandmother. That's some sad ****. I gotta say I really like this kid. Good personality
