How does Jarrett from GA compare to this dude?

Silver was much lighter coming out of HS. He absolutely blossomed in weight but he still carries it well. Both similar skill sets, just complete space eaters who win with power and whose job is to reset the LOS. Silver older and much more experienced. Apparently the NT job would have been Jarrett’s to lose for 2025 according to UGA fans so this could simply be a money play. I’d kick the tires for sure though.

Absolutely. Give him what it takes, dont be cheap on this one.

DE: Bain/Blount/Lowe
DT: Silver/Moten/Jones
DT: Scott/Horton/Russell
DE: McConathy/Lightfoot/Pickett

Is a dline good enough to compete with the big dogs. Assuming those 2nd year players take a normal step up.
The McConathy hype troubles me. Probably will be grabbing more DE from the portal again.

Should give Travis Shaw from unc a look too if we don’t get silver. Another former 5 star NT at 6’5 330. Started for unc this year

We'd be one injury away from having an entire DE depth chart that has played in less than like 100 total snaps. We definitely need 1 more experienced DE.

I see a lot of "we need to get him to commit and shut things down today" comments.

But what's the strategy to get a kid like this to actually commit and shut things down today?

It seems like no matter what we offer, he'll want to use that and take it to the other schools to negotiate for more.

I would assume the only other option for us is to risk playing hard ball like "we'll give you more than you're asking for but you need to accept right now and commit and shut down or the offer is gone."

Are we sure Messidor is gone? He still has eligibility I believe due to injury/COVID year.

I'd add Bryant to the DE room and Russell will never play meaningful minutes for UM in my opinion. If so, we're in deep trouble!

Yeah I think he will be a good player (all three) but I’d like to pick up one DE at least in the portal. Doesn’t even have to be a star player. A solid bookend with experience that’ll do their job would suffice. Too much inexperience otherwise.

Don’t let him leave
He will leave..BUT make him call USC and Michigan with the offer and ask them if they arent going match it..no use in him even coming to campus. We want to cut the competition and hopefully make this a 2 team race after his OV. We have to set the bar.

EASY SELL, TAKE HIM AROUND CAMPUS, LET HIM ENJOY THE EYE CANDY, OFFER A **** LOAD OF MONEY, DONE DEAL. NO WHERE ELSE IS HE GOING TO GET THIS EXPERIENCE, MIAMI IS UNIQUE, ALWAYS HAS BEEN. IT SELLS ITSELF. OH DID I TELL YOU THAT YOUR GOING TO RECEIVE A FIRST CLASS EDUCATION AT AN ELITE PRIVATE INSTITUTION AND ESTABLISH RELATIONSHIPS THAT WILL SERVE YOU FOR A LIFETIME ?
