Pringle is a ball player but your point is why I keep telling people speed is pointless unless the kid understands how to play ball.

How many times do we keep getting burned on these track kids that just so happen to play football?

I think the problem is those type of guys will transfer multiple times. They’re one trick ponies and gadget guys. They’re not going to be premier players/starters. It takes guys like that buying into their role. I hope nothing but the best for the kid, but I just don’t see him being an every down back at the P4 level

Bruh he runs in a straight line and his frame can’t add weight. He was a roll of the dice and it didn’t work out. Like I said if he can’t run between the tackles and let a random defenders arm get them off balance it’s a wrap at this level. Thought he would be good but you can’t just try to run outside teams are too fast for that
He want even a recruiting battle. Bama wanted Pringle bad. And osu wanted fletcher and Lyle’s bad.

I wish CJ the best of luck. Hope he finds the right home

I'm a little worried about our RB depth. We might lose 3 RBs and we only have 1 coming in

RB is going to be a revolving door position for depth. Too many guys and not enough touches. Honestly, the rotation we had this year is close to ideal. 2 guys featured and a young guy sprinkled in with touches. Martinez leaves and moves to Fletcher, Lyle, and Pringle getting some touches like Lyle did. But you need to continuously add in a guy or two for depth( that will be used sparingly if at all). RB will be fine.

We still have Chris Wheatley Humphrey. Maybe they find another back in the portal. Just a tough position to keep solid depth at.

and he1l cat but thats it. We need another 1. Maybe Lofton going to get some snaps but that room can be really thin real quick
We'll likely grab a depth piece. Someone with multiple years of eligibility and good upside.

I just wanna avoid what happen in 2022 when we lost 4 running backs to injuries and we were down to a walk on RB getting carries. 2023 we were dealing with injuries thru out the whole season, everybody was in or out. 2023 Chaney played in the most games out of our RBs and that was Chaney!! 2024 we actually avoided what we saw in 2022 and 2023 with only minor injuries but for all 12 games we had our main backs.

Agreed, but how do you keep the 5th string rb happy if he’s any good? 1 of the 500 reasons this era of CFB is impossible to manage

We should all get used to these transfers. It’s not as if Johnson didn’t earn any playing time. Whose carries is he going to take? Martinez and Fletcher get the bulk of the carries. AJ and Lyle split the change of pace role. What exactly does Johnson do better than anybody than anybody ahead of him the depth chart, other than run faster in straight line? Are we gonna miss a 6 foot 180 pound running back?

Chris Johnson didn’t exactly light CFB on fire with his return abilities. Returning were his big chance to contribute and he was average. Unless you can jump over the people ahead of you at your position you’ve got to make your mark on special teams or leave.

With time you never know. Look what Smith did with SMU this year

Why may we lose 3? In that case I'd expect us to hit the portal for a 4th.
