CB Jaboree Antoine commits to Miami

Mario Cristobal continues to rewrite the recruiting rules.

The Canes went into New Iberia, Louisiana- an area dominated by LSU- and beat out the Tigers for CB Jaboree Antoine. The 6’1, 170-pound Antoine is the 2nd-ranked player in Louisiana, the 8th-ranked CB in the nation and the 71st overall player.

Antoine, who was previously committed to LSU, also plays QB and competes in the 300M hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

Antoine is the 19th commitment of the 2025 class, joining QB Luke Nickel, RB Girard Pringle, WR Daylyn Upshaw, TE Brock Schott, TE Luka Gilbert, OT Jaden Wilkerson, OT Demetrius Campbell, OG Max Buchanan, OG TK Muex, C SJ Alofaituli, DE Herbert Scroggins, LB Gavin Nix, LB Elijah Melendez, LB Ezekiel Marcelin, S Hylton Stubbs, DB Amari Wallace, DB Tim Merritt and CB Chris Ewald.

i'd guess he meant Ryan Mack

though Ryan Clark might be 40 years old, hasnt played in 10 years and could give us some snaps in our secondary.

I think we need Hanks as much as Pickett. We haven't had a lockdown CB in ages, and from everything I've read, Hanks can be that. As amazing of an athlete as Pickett is, I'm not sure he's a lockdown CB.

That said, I know Hanks will be very tough to get.

You got me. Meant Mack. And I thought hill was a senior. But if he’s young enough add em in. I also didn’t include Amari Wallace and Bryce Fitzgerald. As Wallace is injured and will be out two years and Bryce can’t tackle so we don’t know what he’s gonna do

I don't know if it was @gogeta4 or @lindend & I that would go back and forth on this throughout the off-season. But we're seeing exactly how thin we are at DB period. I still say safety is my bigger concern BUT not by much. If we can't get this pass rush home than at safety and at corner we're in trouble. Only difference is at safety I had hoped we'd see zaquan getting his share of snaps so he can mature and at corner with damari out ***** rough. All these injuries on the line are killing us

Yeah usually we overrate our players but this year I think we overrated our depth everywhere except the secondary. Bain goes down. Big difference. Lose rivers. Huge difference. Now those are all conf guys. But man losing damari is big time it seems

I mentioned it before but last year Guidry stated in interview he does not like to rotate his safeties and thru last year and this season unless its a injury issue or game is blow out that has held true. Hard for young guys to develop cuz he says his starters will play majority of snaps

How lucky are we to have OJ and Slime will be a great combo with him for years to come. Not saying he won’t adjust, just saying it’s a challenge for freshman and I hope people understand that. But Slime is the goods!
