Are the young guys like Patterson getting close to being starters? Not sure how much more I can take of a guy like Jadais whose terrible play seems to have a domino effect on the rest of the defense and not in a good way.
I wish I had a clear answer on that. But trust we all feel the same. His play is spiraling downwards at that

Agreed, unless they’re a plug and play freshman, should never be relying on true freshman to start and win you games

Nothing wrong with relying on freshman to start at few spots. Bama, Clemson, UGA, etc have done it and faired well. Now having majority freshman starting sure

Also, the best player in our secondary this season is probably the TF CB (OJ).

Watching him play… I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around how “raw” and “project” are defined when describing Stafford and Robbie? Because how could they be so much worse that pt is basically out of the question for them right now?

Exactly. Get those talented and fast players ready to play. Richard isnt fast and doesn’t seem to even tackle well.

Richards is the worst player we have on defense that is getting significant playing time. Gets lost trying to cover the motion receiver, takes bad angles, doesn't have great recovery speed, and is a mediocre tackler

This year I think most of Bamas secondary is freshman and they are feeling it.

Next year at corner we could have OJ and Damari starting and the rest true freshman like Jaboree, Hanks, Pickett if we land the last two. And even as young guys that could be a significant upgrade over this years guys

Think those FR might start over Damari.

Part of it has to be loss of confidence. Once the confidence goes things can go downhill fast.

Yeah he was fine vs UF then got beat and lost his mojo. I honestly see no incremental risk in playing the other guys. I will say I worry about Stafford who got smoked by Lofton in a Spring scrimmage highlight. He’s still a project I think. But again, are we any safer playing Richard?

What about Mack? He’s been playing DB since he was in diapers.

****,hope not.
Yea was hoping he would he able to help next year. Gaby wouldn't say specifics all he said was that it was a serious injury and season ending. Another poster said the LSU board was saying it was an ACL.

He's a big NIL investment and he will likely not be 100% back for 2 years.

I understand that in 2023 we were taking bodies in some cases (portal) just to fill the roster but the fact we haven’t recruited over him yet is ******* terrible
