Is this kid supposed to be better than D’Yoni Hill?
honestly just a taller version. After DP got bodied in the endzone by Syracuse receiver I said they will be going after taller corners. If Surtain, Raymond, or T-Rob was here i would be confident in this take but then again if they were here we would not be on the kid. With this staff the players out the portal need to come in already polished looking to elevate their draft stock. Like many said before there is a high chance he does not reach his potential here

So is there real concern this could end up like another Andre Sam situation or is he still expected to eventually end up here once it's all said and done?

Assuming what I heard is correct, and what that one poster (TheReturn2023) posted is incorrect, then Miami will pursue, and the decision of whether to press on comes down to the kid.

I still do not know ON WHAT GROUNDS Wisconsin can refuse to submit the Portal paperwork. I'm just confused on that one.

Yeah, I first got into Van Halen with VH II (Beautiful Girls and Dance the Night Away). I was 10 years old, VH II was a bit brighter and less dark than VH I and Women & Children First.

So when I first saw that commercial and the riff to Beautiful Girls came on (and considering it was an ad for *** beer), I just laughed my *** off. If you watch it today, they put some soundalike music on the ad which SUCKS compared to the genius of Edward Van Halen.

Fair Warning is probably my favorite though I love I and II as well.

This is about as disingenuous as it gets. Calling Ivey an NFL corner negates his entire Miami tenure. Would have been a lot better to stop after 2nd paragraph the rest is just rat poison.
He is an NFL corner. That’s a fact. I said it ahead of time and got called a lunatic.

He did not play that way here. Part of that was coaching. Part of it was Ivey himself. But, as I and coaches like TRob said at the time, a big reason he underachieved is because he lost confidence. And that’s due in no small part to maniac fans that were extremely loud on social media.

Maybe he shouldn’t have paid attention to that stuff. But it’s real. Look at how grown men on here react to internet arguments.

It's a fact that has nothing to do with Karnley. If you are suggesting he could be the next Ivey that doesn't benefit fans who care about The University of Miami. Maybe the Bengals fans here are elated but that wouldn't be a welcomed sight. Jaden Davis was drafted as well do we want another one of those? If we are using draft picks bring me another Burns or Stevenson or even a Michael Jackson.
Who is going to develop this young man? My issue isn't who he has been. My issue is we don't have a proven system of guys coming here and becoming better. If he struggled at Arizona I would bet with upmost certainty that he maintains those struggles.

WTF are you talking about?

"Calling Ivey an NFL corner"? Was he on the 53-man roster as a rookie? Is he currently on the 53-man roster after his injury? He's an NFL corner.

Miami has had plenty of players who reach their potential in the NFL after under-performing at UM. DJ Ivey wasn't the first and won't be the last.

Your posts are just negativity for negativity's sake. You don't make any logical or intelligent points.

I like how you scrolled past the 5 or 6 other people that said the same ****. How to be a Clown101.

For those asking, this take has nothing to do with O’Connor. We are making a strong push there. Lucas isn’t in the Portal, but if he ever jumped in I don’t think this would impact that recruitment.
Oh boy we trying to have one of the strongest CB rooms in the nation I see

Yes, we could have used Jaden Davis. Look how we played without him.

I used the Ivey example because I already see a similar narrative emerging around this kid before he even takes a snap here. Let’s see what he got and hope all the coaches across the country who like him are right.

This ain't cool. I'm rooting for the kid though.

Miami added length and speed to its secondary with the commitment of Arizona transfer CB Emmanuel “Manny” Karnley.

The 6’2 185-pound redshirt freshman from Antioch, CA has been timed as fast as 21 MPH, and secured 16 tackles and 5 PBUs in 369 snaps.

Karnley is one of the most coveted corners in the Portal, ranking #6 overall with a four-star rating. He chose Miami over Michigan and Ole Miss and has three years of eligibility remaining.

The Canes will continue to be aggressive in completely overhauling their secondary, and I expect several more additions with length and speed.

Add Xvaier Lucas and we're cooking with grease.

The truth is, with 105 scholarships, if we’re landing Lucas and another good one to go with Brantley then it’s fine because there’s nothing to lose. And now back to the show…
