One of the top 5 SNL parody commercials of all time. Unfortunately, Van Halen pulled the permission to use "Beautiful Girls" as the music for the ad.
Didn't know that. That's interesting. Oh, it was an instant classic. Schmitt's. Just typing it literally makes me LOL.

For the record, I watched about 250 of his 380+ snaps from TV copies.

Probably saw about 50 more but couldn’t see enough due to camera.

My opinion is far from uninformed or guessing from some twitter clip. Im not DB guru but I feel pretty confident he’s a) not good and b) not going to get good coaching that he’ll need to reach this “ceiling” he supposedly has from the coaches currently in this program.
I'm going through and watching the portal guys to write them up. His tv copy you can see isn't perfect by any means.

That said, CB is very much a tools position. Miami is lacking in players with tools in that room. You take every 6-3 fluid mover with speed and ball skills you can get.

If nothing else, you're getting a depth guy who can play specials and has outcomes possible that almost no one else in the room does.

He certainly isn't being penciled in as a starter already.

Welcome to the U young fella. Lotta noise out there about you - prove it to be just, nothing but noise….as we’re all unquestionably rooting for you to represent your brand and this U the right way!!!

Sorry if you've already posted this elsewhere but what did u see on film that made him so bad? Bad coverage, bad tackling? Slow? Lots of penalties?

To me, this take all depends on who else we get.

Hes a freshman and young.

If we get O'Connor and Lucas, then Karnley is a great take as he'd be coming in as a depth and developmental player to replace our recruiting miscues.

If he comes in as a player we are depending on, dont like it.

Let’s say you add O’Connor and Lucas

If Karnley is the 4th guy in the class, I don’t have a problem with that lol. The perception of him on here versus his offers/rankings is interesting tho.
Kinda my thinking too. Like are we hedging all our bets on this kid? No. Gotta flip the room. Not every CB room can be like the early 2000s here. Also have the spring portal coming too. My thinking is why not take 4-5 guys in the winter. See how spring practice goes and then reevaluate from there. Mario did the opposite last year and we see how it worked.

Do you like Brantley and Poyser?
Do you like O'Conner?
Do you like Xavier Lucas?
Do you like Brantley? Yes. If healthy, this guy is easily our top corner (and a top DB in all CFB) based upon production and can do multiple things if asked.
Poyser? Yes. Was big part of defense’s success.
Do you like O'Conner? Yes. Young but had some excellent moments for Wassau
Do you like Xavier Lucas? Yes. Young but played key role for UW defense

Again, every DB gets beat but the key is battling and being in the right spot more often than not to make a play. The potential with these guys can actually be seen on tape. I don’t believe Cuse walks up and down the field on us with these guys playing in our secondary, scheme notwithstanding.

So is this the time we all bash our commits no matter what and the crew of wanna be talent scouts, street agents and high school coaches show up and criticize the kid? Just checking! He sucks! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I wouldn't go quite that far.

I respect @JayCane20 because he watches film and gives his honest assessment. I can agree with him on "hip stiffness", that could be an issue. I can disagree with him (a bit) on foot speed, because I've seen guys in their first year of position-change "think too much" and "play too slow" compared to later years. I cited Sam Shields because he got better each year he played CB. Now, if Karnley is still slow with his feet a year from now, then let's cut bait and move on.

We also have a lot of posters who just chime-in to whatever their favorite poster says, though they have not watched film.

I tend to look at the big picture. You have a tall, rangy kid with speed who is switching from WR to CB. Pressure bursts pipes, so if he improves in the next year, great, and if he doesn't improve in the next year, recruit over him.

No IC rules any longer. 105 total scholarships. Throw numbers at the problem and see who sticks. It's not like we are passing over a bunch of guys who want to be Hurricanes.

Oh I agree lol…let’s move arguable a top 5 outside corner in cfb to nickel. I don’t see it either

Top 5 is a big reach. Brantley is a good cb but he ain’t elite. If they get O’Connor who is a outside guy then somebody has to play nickel with oj already outside at 1 spot

... I'm just seeing if Karnley being DB # 4 or 5 would be good enough for CIS to stop with the "staff has learned nothing" rhetoric you finished your post with...

If this kid playing Nickel is French for "we're moving Damari to safety"......then I'm good with this signing.
