I think a lot of gripes comes from how bad they’ve been in recruiting this position group. Then plenty of misses at the position in the portal. It’s obvious we need to douche that room but the question a lot of us have is “ why did we have to wait to see the abortion of cb play in season to realize this”? The next question is why are we so bad with this position ? Development on that side of the ball has been atrocious.
Why doesn't Mario hire Butch to help him with talent evaluations and hiring coaches.
I agree our defensive coaches ain't developing ****. That includes JT

I’d like to speak on this but I’ll just shut up and keep my opinion to myself lol.

The one issue on Karnley is he’s an atrocious tackler and in today’s football you have to have a little dog in ya. You need some fight / physicality with all the bubbles and quick throws being made. There’s always blocks and one & one situations. This isn’t twenty years ago where you took away a side of the field and that was enough. The best teams tackle the best in space. Guys that can cover isn’t enough now.
He's also atrocious in coverage too.

You get no argument from me. You're right.

However, at least they acknowledge it annually by recruiting the **** out of the position. They might be batting .167 but they are out there swinging through it. Hit rate has to get better.

Also...it might be pretty easy to be bamboozled on these portal DBs. I think a reason a lot of these guys are in the portal to begin with is because they don't understand what they are really doing out there...because Ive seen it. They have no idea what they are doing out there way too often. Generally speaking. You can get away with more of that sloppy **** or a lack of measurables (we've been sloooooooow and short for a while) at that lower level, lower expectation football, the pros fix a lot of it if you got traits I think ...but we've got to do better in evaluating, but nature of the game might be you have to just churn through it sometimes @Memnon or anyone that'd know DBs has there been an example of a DB that has exceeded expectations after transferring from here...like met or bettered their original star rating elsewhere?

Just to be fair , adding guys like D Hill is why some are questioning it
....except Dyoni Hill was viewed as a good addition including by the more respected CIS posters lol...so...

Say what you want but he can't be worse than what we've seen every week in our secondary

WTF is your problem, *******? I wasn’t commenting on DJ Ivey, so why the **** are you at’ing me? Because you are a desperate attention *****?
You had a problem when I wrote the same thing, but conveniently ignored everyone else. Just wanted another chance to confirm you were a little whiny *****. Happy Holidays!

If this guy is a highly rated player recruited by top teams, how is the Miami staff acting like "the smartest guys in the room" by taking him?

Maybe he's good, maybe he stinks, but it has nothing to do with them going against the grain.
This is a reach no matter how you spin it. Our portal resume showcases this staff has the “smartest man in the room” syndrome. They think they can turn the Powell’s, Hill’s, Richard’s, Alderman’s, etc., of the world into playmakers. This is the result they get for playing stupid games and bringing in mid players. This kid belongs in the category.

Hes probably better than every corner we played today besides OJ
OJ didn't play the 2H. We were down to Hill and Williams playing CB. That's some rough **** there.

Did he get hurt? I noticed they never called his name in the 2H but assumed ISU was just picking on our other corners.
