The NCAA is garbage and everyone has always known it. Now they've given UM more than enough evidence to attack though, and that may be the difference. It would be great if this thing had just died, but they wouldn't let it. Now the time has come for the NCAA to answer to someone other than themselves.

She can definatley sue them for her fees if they agreed to pay in advance and renegged.

so whats next? we skating or looking for the ncaa to playball?? reading a lot of opinions on here.

Depends, if the COI agrees to hear us out this weekend, then maybe there's a chance we could work this out. If not, it's gonna get longer, and uglier. Especially if the COI sides with the investigative committee. So skating has been placed on hold for now.

Skating should be tossed out considering the stuff we already self-imposed

I think the NCAA charged Miami with just enough to justify the punishment Miami has already self-imposed. We've imposed a lot, 2 bowl bans, 3 postseason games, multiple practices, limits on in-home and official visits, and 5 scholarships is a lot of sanctions. On what planet is that not harsh? UCF got less for LOIC, so at this point I'm not worried.

This makes sense to me,and would make you wonder if the NCAA and UM reached some understanding of how the process would unfold and the eventual outcome. It would be smart for both sides to do so, but I'm not sure that was a possibility, given all of the issues the NCAA confronts arising from its other investigations.

You think Donna comes out and throws that uppercut to Emmerts jaw if an understanding had been reached?

meh. Not so fastmy friend. A statement likes this gives *** boy Emmert and the COI cover to throw Enforcement under the bus, and let us take time served. Everyone already knows Enforcement ****ed up royally. Heads have rolled. No additional loss of face to just ride off quietly in the night.

I like your train of thought

Morton ******* skated, his NOA

Between October 2008 and April 2009, the following occurred:

“Jake Morton and Jorge Fernandez, then assistant men’s basketball coaches, allowed Nevin Shapiro, a representative of the institution’s athletics interests, to promote the institution’s athletics programs and to assist the institution in the recruitment of three men’s basketball prospective student-athletes. In order to help facilitate Shapiro’s involvement, Morton and Fernandez also provided impermissible inducements in the form of transportation and entertainment to individuals associated with the prospective student-athletes. Specifically:

a. On October 4, 2008, Morton and Fernandez arranged for Shapiro to have in-person, off-campus recruiting contact in Shapiro’s suite at Dolphin Stadium during a home football game with Marlon Williamson, the nonscholastic boys’ basketball coach of then men’s basketball prospective student-athlete Donovan Kirk, while Williamson was visiting the locale of the institution. [NCAA Bylaws 13.01.2, 13.2.1 and 13.8.1]

b. On October 26, 2008, Morton and Fernandez arranged for Shapiro to have in-person, off-campus recruiting contact with Mo Hicks and Howard Dwayne Mitchell, two high school coaches accompanying then men’s basketball prospective student-athlete Durand Scott, at Shapiro’s home and at a local nightclub during Scott’s official visit to the institution. In addition, Morton and Fernandez provided impermissible inducements in the form of transportation and entertainment to Hicks and Mitchell during the visit. [NCAA Bylaws 13.01.2, 13.2.1, 13.5.2.6, 13.6.8 and 13.8.1]

c. In April 2009, Morton arranged for Shapiro to have recruiting contact via telephone with Brian Clifton, a nonscholastic coach of then men’s basketball prospective student-athlete John Wall. Also, during the period of Wall’s recruitment, Shapiro arranged to have in-person, off-campus recruiting contact with Clifton at the Bal Harbor Shopping Mall. In addition, Morton provided impermissible inducements in the form of transportation to Clifton during Wall’s official visit to campus. [NCAA Bylaws 13.01.2, 13.2.1, 13.6.8, 13.8.1 and 13.8.2].

Finally, the allegations for Morton end with this:

[NCAA Bylaws 11.3.1and 11.3.2.2]

• It is alleged that between October 2007 and October 2008, Jake Morton, then assistant men’s basketball coach, accepted supplemental income in the amount of at least $6,000 from Nevin Shapiro, a representative of the institution’s athletics interests.

Seriously, that is ******* pathetic that all they found was illegal transportation and phone calls

Can't wait to see Hurtt's

They didnt agree to pay her for her billable hours. That is what she is pist about. They have email records that show that the NCAA agreed to pay for all of the fees for supplies, paperwork and the such but not to have her on retainer. Najjar allegedly told her by phone they the NCAA would approve her billable hours as well and he has since renegged that in the investigation and now she is stuck with only being paid $18,700 instead of the $57,000 she billed them for. Yeah its not over with her yet, but hey that is who the NCAA chose to get in bed with and its gonna be a thorn in their *** now because she doesn't know how to shut up. The reason is if she though we was on retainer then by law she isnt allow to speak about their relationship and proceedings publicly which she has so its all messed up! Both can burn in **** to me.
She can definatley sue them for her fees if they agreed to pay in advance and renegged.

well that's better than what i expected after reading the first paragraph. so what they're saying is that shapiro had zero contact with the actual recruits and took their coaches out for entertainment?

So basically he drove some coaches around and bought dinner/lap dances?

Did he even give the actual recruits anything?

The University of Alabama has not received any notice of allegations regarding former UM assistant Joe Pannunzio.

I agree.

That is exaclty HOW they will respond. They will ask for proof to corroborate the claim. If the NCAA can not provide it, it is stricken from the record and they move on to the next line item. I believe that is how it goes.
Is this really how the NOA's are going to read?

They don't cite a document or witness to corroborate the allegation. Is this all from Shapiro? How can Miami possibly respond if they don't know what the evidence is?

What a f**ed up process.
