The NCAA is not above the law, yes they are an entity unto themselves within their organization but they still are subject to the law both federal and state. They have to play by those rules and they have not, they know it, the U's attorneys know it and this story is far from being completely told.

this sht right here.

The Committee on Infractions drops allegations all the time. The investigators (Enforcement) are the dirtbags. They throw everything against the wall. If there is one group in the NCAA that at least makes some effort to do the right thing, it's the COI. We will have the best of the best arguing against the allegations, and the COI has shown to listen to legitimate arguments.

The NOA is like the defense in a prosecution situation getting the evidence that the prosecution has, it was not unexpected and their will be a lot of public posturing but still expect a good outcome. This is not your usual situation with the NCAA and still feel a positive ending for the U. LOIC is not as bad as it sounds, much of this will be rebutted successfully before the COI, the NCAA saying that if mini-me said it twice it was confirmed as truthful and as good evidence, please!!!! LOL

A first year law student could have that shizzz thrown out! The NCAA is the one in the crosshairs and they know it! There will be a lot of public posturing and if you think any deals are off the table in this mess you are sadly mistaken! This will end in the most positive way for the U that it could. With Emmert gone, the NCAA on life support and the U moving forward!
We would have little to worry about if we were being tried in the actual court system. Unfortunately we are dealing with the NCAA where logic and reason clearly does not apply.

No sports body is completely insulated from the courts of legal and public opinion. Just look at what happened with NFL's position on bounty-gate. Eventually the commissioner had to back off even when there is no law to require him to do so. Shalala's public posturing at the right moment is forcing NCAA's hand while giving it a way out through official means, that is if the COI and the subsequent penalties let UM off with time served. Let's see if NCAA will allow the case to be heard this weekend. If it does, we are likely to have a positive outcome. And no, UM shouldn't ask for additional scholarships or money. You don't corner the enemy without offering an escape route. Otherwise they will fight to the end. Not in anyone's interest.

If they were offering a settlement Donna wouldnt have **** punched emmert like she did. She's ready for war IMO

He's a dead man walking. His days at NCAA are over. Soon everybody gonna jump on the hypocrite band wagon. Otherwise why would a member school ever trust or cooperate with the NCAA. Compare tressel and the deception and the comparative results

What message would they be sending? Pile on pile on! Watch the press reaction,

I asked the same thing about Hurtt in another thread.

I think the NCAA charged Miami with just enough to justify the punishment Miami has already self-imposed. We've imposed a lot, 2 bowl bans, 3 postseason games, multiple practices, limits on in-home and official visits, and 5 scholarships is a lot of sanctions. On what planet is that not harsh? UCF got less for LOIC, so at this point I'm not worried.

This makes sense to me,and would make you wonder if the NCAA and UM reached some understanding of how the process would unfold and the eventual outcome. It would be smart for both sides to do so, but I'm not sure that was a possibility, given all of the issues the NCAA confronts arising from its other investigations.

You think Donna comes out and throws that uppercut to Emmerts jaw if an understanding had been reached?

meh. Not so fastmy friend. A statement likes this gives *** boy Emmert and the COI cover to throw Enforcement under the bus, and let us take time served. Everyone already knows Enforcement ****ed up royally. Heads have rolled. No additional loss of face to just ride off quietly in the night.

She's RIPPING the NCAA on 105.9 in South Florida right now. RIPPING THEM. She says she's going after the NCAA and that if she knew how corrupt they were, she would have never helped them or had Shapiro work with them.

no, that's not it. What she means is that if she had known beforehand they weren't gonna pay her legal bills she never would have worked with them

Remember....the bufoons who conducted the investigation also wrote the report.

i'm not expecting like a complete destruction of NCAA, but I am fully expecting Emmert to get canned.

Something to the effect of "if I had known they where such an incompetent regulatory organization I would have never worked with them"

NCAA is about to have Shapiro and that **** lawer going to war with them

Let it be know , we are the Miami hurricanes we took over college football, made the NCAA rewrite the rule book then destroyed the NCAA!

And did it while dominating a sport we weren't even SUPPOSED TO BE!!! What? You ask what they call "that"? IT'S CALLED SWAGGER B****!

Not that this is a surprise.. but I just heard from a connected friend at the university that they are preparing a lawsuit as we speak.. its going to get ugly

Problem with that is the committee that could fire him is made up of people he appointed
