Wasn't Fisch going to help Carroll transition to WR coach? We might be needing a guy with similar talents and/or a WR coach.

Unreal some of you...the man has a great opportunity to advance in his career and he gets persecuted on this site...what childish behavior!

Get a grip and stop being puzzies!

I only care about Canes. That piece of **** just turned in his cane card. Not a cane.

What does Cristobal's hiring suggest about Goldens future here? Seems like alot of stuff going on under the radar.

I've seen two of your posts and already completely hate you.

It says Golden has an eye for talent with one leaving to NFLU and Cristobal willing to come back despite feelers from other schools looking for a coach. Golden probably hates you too.

I know it's an NFL promotion, but JAX has the worst QB situation in the NFL. Jed is going to have a tough time.

Very poor timing. But this the double edged sword of actually having a competent staff, but the university being unwilling or unable to pay market value to keep them together.

Lame attempt to blame the university for a gator doing what a gator does. On top of that, all programs lose corches to the NFL.

And a more pathetic attempt to pass the entire situation off on his college affiliation, then follow it up with actual plausible logic. If all programs have this happen, then it isn't just Gator thing is it?

And if you think this university pays market value for what we think the level of this program should be, then your sadly mistaken.

Fugg gators. And this had nothing to do with pay. Carry on though with the lame anti-UM rhetoric.

I have never seen a more reactionary, insulated to the point of paranoia group of people in my life!

Pointing out that historically UM has been unable to keep pace over time with coaching salaries, particularly among assistants, is now anti-UM rhetoric?

Jesus H. Is it also anti-UM to say that the Cane defense has been less than stellar over the last two years? That Dorsett has issues with drops? That the athletic department has had problems with leadership and fund raising?

Not going to waste time getting into a beef with you over this, but do you think Fisheyes turns down an NFL OC gig to remain OC at UM if we were paying him the average salary of a top 20 college OC?

An please point all the OC/DCs we've lost to other college programs because we don't pay. Some of you dudes can't handle it when people disagree with your puppetted party lines about UM. Support your position and quit stomping your feet and just puppetting the party line.

Fisch was far from a nobody when Golden hired him

Excuse me but Fisch had been an OC for all of one year prior to being an OC here. He was anything but a proven OC before he got here. Designing playbooks and running an offense are two entirely different animals. Now he gets a promotion to be an OC in the NFL and people realize just how bright the man is. Golden helped Fisch get that job because he took a chance him. He took a chance on him because he has a set of balls and knew he could competently manage Fisch.

All of the chicken little's need to relax. Golden will be able to land a beast of an OC now because of the seeds he planted when he first got here.

Part of the appeal is showing you're ability through dumpster fires like Mark Sanchez, Chad Henne, or Sunshine Gabbert. If he's able to get that team to middle of the pack offensively with it well known already that the QB situation there is in shambles, he'll build extensive credibility for him. See also: Chud and how he did work for Cleveland's Derek Anderson. Or someone who did it in the opposite order in Brian Schotty. Guy was ran out of New York because everyone thought he was the problem; well, Bradford made huge strides this year and Sanchez collapsed into himself like a dying star.

It's low risk, high reward in the grand scheme of things (with exception to job security): he fails? QB situation was a joke. He succeeds? Mastermind. He takes the job? Huge pay hike.

..as opposed to the situation he had when he came here?

Anyway, I hope he can land a job with a pro team next

Sucks that Morris has to learn another new system. That's the part that really sucks. We can't get a flow going. Might be time to get away from the young NFL assistant model when it comes to hiring corches. They are always in hardcore climb mode.

Just when we finally had some continuity after years of turnover...SMMFH

I don't care who is coaching the offense next year, we have quality kids that will kick ***. Just like the 2001 team on offense, not as good but good enough to kick most teams *** even with an average coach. Have faith in the kids, they will bring it! Add a couple of kids and we Roll. Fisch was good not great, we start getting all the good South Florida kids cherry pic out of state it won't matter.

LOL at some of these responses. Fisch just got a huge promotion, not only in pay but in stature. I would like to see some of you guys turn down doubling your salary and moving up the ladder in real life. And coaching is a year round business, not like he had the option to defer the job until after signing day.

Good luck to Fisch, he's a talented young coach and those type guys get promoted. Guess some of you would rather go back to a guy like Nix sense he has zero chance of getting a promotion. I have faith in Al that he will find a worthy replacement and the offense will still roll this year.

Sorry to break it to you, sniper is right.

Right about what?
Lots of college coordinators and assistants jump around, even from the vaunted SEC programs like uFag, Alabama, l$u,etc....
It is what happens when you have good coaches on staff.
The problem with Sniper's post is the knee-jerk premise that we lost an OC strictly because of salary issues.
I swear, I can almost tell which of our fellow Cane fans reside in Florida or somewhere in the southeast region of this
country, as they all share the same reactionary tendencies to pin everything on UM's alleged resistance to paying
coaches good salaries. It's as if they have been brainwashed by their family, friends and coworkers with SEC ties.
