Lame attempt to blame the university for a gator doing what a gator does. On top of that, all programs lose corches to the NFL.

And a more pathetic attempt to pass the entire situation off on his college affiliation, then follow it up with actual plausible logic. If all programs have this happen, then it isn't just Gator thing is it?

And if you think this university pays market value for what we think the level of this program should be, then your sadly mistaken.

Fugg gators. And this had nothing to do with pay. Carry on though with the lame anti-UM rhetoric.

I have never seen a more reactionary, insulated to the point of paranoia group of people in my life!

Pointing out that historically UM has been unable to keep pace over time with coaching salaries, particularly among assistants, is now anti-UM rhetoric?

Jesus H. Is it also anti-UM to say that the Cane defense has been less than stellar over the last two years? That Dorsett has issues with drops? That the athletic department has had problems with leadership and fund raising?

Not going to waste time getting into a beef with you over this, but do you think Fisheyes turns down an NFL OC gig to remain OC at UM if we were paying him the average salary of a top 20 college OC?

An please point all the OC/DCs we've lost to other college programs because we don't pay. Some of you dudes can't handle it when people disagree with your puppetted party lines about UM. Support your position and quit stomping your feet and just puppetting the party line.

To your second point...just one off the top of my head, in recent history... Bill Young.

To your first...I was never arguing that. In fact it was actually a compliment to the staff. Outside of the aforementioned Young, you'd be hard pressed to find any examples of upwardly mobile members of a UM staff in well over a decade. But it doesn't change the fact that if a job opening from the NFL or a well healed university comes open, that UM would have a hard time competing with the type of money they're able to throw around.

Weird because I thought Bill Young left to seize the opportunity of coaching at his alma mater, like most of us would probably do.

If it aint Al Golden or Mike Barrow I do not care. I mean cmon whats the big deal.

Man, that's a big loss. I can't believe he's leaving, after what he and Golden have started at the U. Lost some respect for him there, but everyone is looking to coach at the U. We'll be alright

Yes he still leaves for the nfl.

Of course he leaves, which makes Sniper's chatter about us not paying assistants enough a nonstarter. UM paying assistants has nothing to do with Fishbag leaving.

Dana Bible would be a quiet but solid hire. Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, and Mike Glennon. I think Olsen would be pretty happy with Bible as his OC and Bible could finish out his career in South Florida before retiring.

I look at this as a +! We all knew that he would be leaving. Now who ever Golden brings in will be here, hopefully, for at least a few years. Therefore, Olsen can learn the system and grow on it.

I would rather Jebb leave now instead of next year, or worse 2 years from now and have Olsen under a new system in his Soph or Junior year.

Is this to much simply logic for this board? Why doesn't anyone see this? We all know Golden is going to get an OC that is competent, if not great, and with our talent, we are going to be good!

Sorry to break it to you, sniper is right.
Very poor timing. But this the double edged sword of actually having a competent staff, but the university being unwilling or unable to pay market value to keep them together.

Lame attempt to blame the university for a gator doing what a gator does. On top of that, all programs lose corches to the NFL.

Right about what?
Lots of college coordinators and assistants jump around, even from the vaunted SEC programs like uFag, Alabama, l$u,etc....
It is what happens when you have good coaches on staff.
The problem with Sniper's post is the knee-jerk premise that we lost an OC strictly because of salary issues.
I swear, I can almost tell which of our fellow Cane fans reside in Florida or somewhere in the southeast region of this
country, as they all share the same reactionary tendencies to pin everything on UM's alleged resistance to paying
coaches good salaries. It's as if they have been brainwashed by their family, friends and coworkers with SEC ties.

Exactly. Thank Kevin Olsen that there are some astute dudes on here who can debate issues without puppetting party lines about UM being unwilling to pay coordinators.

I saw a few people on here saying Coley and Collins are gone for sure? **** that....NO WAY does this impact their decision THAT much since Collins seems to be leaning Cane as much as he is..

Thanks for the reply. I don't think Young leaving had anything to do with salary. He hated Shanntard and was never on the same page. Okie St actually paid him less than UM did. He got to return to his alma mater and get away from Shanntard.

After this, I don't want to hear anyone yapping about another team's fans having a meltdown over a coach leaving. :)

I agree with this in general, Golden will find an equal or greater talent at OC, but the reason the board is upset is the timing with regards to signing day.

And to answer a question that I am too lazy to quote, regarding the news of his hire potentially getting out anyways regardless of whether he attempted to keep it under wraps until after signing day: Maybe it would have, maybe it would not. You owe it to the guys who put you into this position to try, at the very least.

Oh really...in that case you don't care about Jimmy Johnson, Howard, Butch, Erickson, Pagano, Chud, and countless others that have moved on....
Unreal some of you...the man has a great opportunity to advance in his career and he gets persecuted on this site...what childish behavior!

Get a grip and stop being puzzies!

I only care about Canes. That piece of **** just turned in his cane card. Not a cane.

I dont think it has the big impact in recruiting that people are mentioning. obviously it affects us on the field though
