Best of luck to Jedd. I understand the thinking, don't get me wrong, but personally I'd rather coach Stephen Morris than Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. Then again, I'm just a high school corch.

Pease like you care about QB's. wing T baby! Just run trap.

Relax and take the tampon out..

Fisch was not on Coley or Collins...
Worst timing ever for recruiting! Hopefully Olsen sticks but we can say bye to Coley and Collins in sure. F$$$ this sucks so bad. At least this a small class and mostly on defense so it won't kill us on recruiting.

We sling it around more than people think. Also, knowing what we know about Al Golden, I'm betting he has a contingency plan for anyone on his staff who leaves.

**** is disrespectful on the part of Fisch. Had he left at the end of the season, everything would have been fine. Had he left after signing day, everything would have been fine. But instead, the dude leaves Golden high and dry less than two weeks before signing day, in a year where a lack of turnover among our coaches has been a major selling point of the program. He knew all this ****, and instead of accepting the promotion and keeping it under wraps for a couple weeks (communicating his acceptance of it to both Golden and the Jags organization, of course), he just had to leave right now.

IMO, **** him. What a douchebag.

I understand, you personally turn down huge promotions and huge raises out of loyalty, right?

No, but I would be willing to wait a couple weeks before announcing said promotion if the timing for the company I was leaving was critical as far as image is concerned. The only thing wrong with him accepting this promotion is the timing, there is nothing wrong with accepting the promotion into itself. I imagine it wouldn't be very difficult to arrange an agreement with Jacksonville to keep his hiring under wraps for a few weeks, with all the necessary paperwork being signed so as to eliminate any risk of Jacksonville deciding they want somebody else. I would have to imagine that things like this happen all the time, and Fisch simply didn't have enough respect for Golden to do so.

This right here. The question is, who does he have on the bench?

It is impressive when you win with a 3rd QB from the Netherlands lol

Golden hired Fisch and he was a nobody. He had never been an OC except for at Minnesota and their fans were making fun of us for taking him. Now he's gone and the sky falling? I expect Golden will upgrade this coordinator position because that's how he rolls. As for everybody learning a new system. Maybe Golden gets a guy that will have to learn the system that has been built since Fisch got here and add to it so the entire offensive roster doesn't have to learn a new system. Jedd did design playbooks for a living.

Fisch was far from a nobody when Golden hired him

The news was going to break, even if Jedd wanted to keep it quiet for a week or so. To be mad at Jedd is misplaced anger. Some of our fans are so foolish.

Hate to lose fisch.. dude was doing work with our offense and especially our QBs. But this is a definitely a promotion for him, even if the situation he's going to is doodoo...

Unreal some of you...the man has a great opportunity to advance in his career and he gets persecuted on this site...what childish behavior!

Get a grip and stop being puzzies!

What does Cristobal's hiring suggest about Goldens future here? Seems like alot of stuff going on under the radar.

The question is will Golden hire the OC from an existing staff member (Carroll or Cristibol)? The positive from hiring on staff is we could stay with similar terminology and philosophy to a point. We lose that with the hire of Cristibol, considering he has to learn the new offense as well, so that theory is out the window.

We will need to hire a QB coach anyway, considering there isn't a QB coach on the staff? Unlike coaching wide receivers I do think that experience is important coaching that position.

Will other offensive staff members be upset if they are bypassed for the OC?

Chances are Al brings in QB coach/OC. Time will tell though.

Sorry to break it to you, sniper is right.
Very poor timing. But this the double edged sword of actually having a competent staff, but the university being unwilling or unable to pay market value to keep them together.

Lame attempt to blame the university for a gator doing what a gator does. On top of that, all programs lose corches to the NFL.
