Zo's Evals Already Impacting Recruiting

The story with Hykeem seems to be more with ATM than us... Back in Jan, Jimbo was going to get everyone... Hykeem was leaning that way a bunch. Obviously, the ATM seems to be running low on funds right now as they currently have the 60th class right now. I also believe Hykeem also plays for the SFE 7 on 7 team. We all know where those kids end up, i.e. anywhere but Miami. I'm not sure where this one is going. Obviously, he is an extreme talent and him paired with Joseph would be a Grand Slam. Fingers crossed.

Sure hope he is all on board with Damon Wilson and can help put us ahead of Bama, UGA, Texas and OSU. Nice to be in his final 5 with that kind of company ... what a difference a year makes. Wilson is an incredible athlete and will be a beast at edge. Saw a video of him on a BB court ... he jumped and head butted the rim!! HEAD BUTTED it.

It looks poor for me to say because he didn’t pick Miami. But before he committed to LSU I had a buddy close to program tell me Brown would probably commit to Miami but said I as a fan wouldn’t be all that impressed. He said he’s on the smaller skinny side, and drops some balls. He said it would be a good pick up for momentum purposes and ranking but Miami fans would be disappointed with results.

Agee, could also be a factor that he had a bad showing at the 7on7. Then proceeded to get punked by some commits on Defense, which he didn’t take well. Kid has talent but looks like not so much heart. That will not fly at CANESNATION. Good luck at LSU

Last huge nugget of news from @Stevo365 on tonight's CaneInsight Live. Says he's seen the text messages from 8&4 recruits and they are frosted about the lack of follow through on NIL payments. Methinks this might have an impact on Keem's decisions and our sudden new found resurgence on his board along with Zo's eval.

Edit: Updated link to directly play @Stevo365 8&4 commentary

Love this show. Best line: "Steve Wiltfong looks like a "in bed by 8:30 AM type of guy." So **** funny!!!!

Don’t these NIL agreements have contracts with other schools? Or are these handshake deals. Because most of these top kids I thought hired ‘agents’ to handle this and I can’t imagine that they’d sit idly by as payments laid out are missed.
I think people forget that the NIL deals are with Businesses and not the schools. IMO it would be unwise to accept a NIL deal that didn't include disbursement and amount time frames.

I'm gonna post a little story on how having multiple voices in a scouting/evaluation capacity matter:

In 2019, the Patriots wanted to take a WR early. There were plenty of options available: AJ Brown, Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, N'Keal Harry.

The scouts stood on Belichicks table and pretty much told him to take either Brown or Samuel. They were miles ahead of Harry and said, these two would be elite in short order. And Belichick liked Brown in particular also.

Belichick took Harry because he asked Herm Edwards about him and he gave a positive review. Harry was just traded to the Bears for a 2024 7th rounder, while Deebo may sign the biggest contract for a WR in NFL history. AJ Brown just signed a four year, 100 million dollar deal with the Eagles. The selection was so bad, Belichick went away from the draft and let his scouts pick the board instead of him. It resulted in them drafting Mac Jones, Christian Barmore, Rhamondre Stevenson and future (at least) role players in McGrone, Nixon and Ronnie Perkins.

Having a ****load of eyes looking at your board is key and I think in this situation, it will help us land better players and make better evaluations. Lets not forget: Alonzo has worked in the NFL as a scout for a long time now and they scout from the High School up all the way to college. He has seen a ****load of tape in his time.
