Who told you this my guy?
When has miami ever had a tight end that short? I think The kid can play, he’s really dynamic with the ball in his hand and can make some great catches. Ideally him being used like the former ncstate hybrid hback/te Jaylen Samuels from last year would be a great comparison of what he could eventually become

Taveres Johnson was a H-back/TE here. Kellen Winslow was 6-3..zip is around 6-2..not 6-1..saw him at a 7 -7..size is not a prob

I know this kid very well...He not coming here to play FB...he will transfer before that happens or sign elsewhere.

Oh he probably doesnt want to play that spot im just saying hes a barely 6'1 235 +pound te....Where do you see those running around alot?. He has mitts for hands though...i guess they see him as Brevin Jordan Lite...but he doesnt have near the body or speed.

TJ was basically about 6'3. Winslow likely ran a 4.4. Zip is my cutoff at 6'2. I dont remember UM ever having a 6'1 te to be honest. I know he will be a flex guy..but he isnt even that athletic. He has the hands and route running ability and yac ability..which would make hima good hback/full back type

Great comparison, using Brevin on end-arounds and TE screen's would be deadly, P.S. I know we run bubble screen's when he's in the slot

I see us using him like we did Herndon or what we do with Jordan. He’s a matchup problem on the next level imo

TE's Randy Bethel and Coleman Bell were productive players and similar in height to this prospect

He’s 6’2..not 6’1 or barely 6’1. A legit 6’2. He’s not playing anything but TE.

TJ was 6’3 & couldn’t play dead in a western. Do you want football players?

Hodges is a dog. He ain’t playing FB & will do work here at TE.

2017 Nike Opening
Hodges, LarryTampa Jesuit - FLTE 19 6-1 206 5.05 4.51 35.5 25.1 66.81
2018 Nike Opening
6'1 231 He scratched his 40 and ran a 4.41 shuttle , 43 power ball throw.

He's an average athlete at best, with below avg height at the te position to be honest. His strength appear to be his hands, and his yac ability. If he can be a Quadtrine Hill type after some s&c im all good. He is NOT some mismatch flexed out with those numbers.

Have to agree with you. Nothing against the kid but an undersized TE is different than an undersized RB or WR. I'm already worried about him getting handled at the line. And like you said his numbers don't exactly scream mismatch. I always thought he was an odd take. Again nothing against him but I have a really hard time believing the plan is to keep him at TE if they keep him. Wonder if communication between him and Hartely is still good.

Size is irrelevant to me because we've had guys who were 6'4 and can't block for sh*t. If Hodges can block then his height is irrelevant.

Hes not much of a blocker. His hs moves him all around the field and he does well with that. I think he even has plays at wildcat qb. Not saying he isnt a good blocker, just dont think thats what he is being brought here to do.
