You only get so many chances

Pitt on Road, SMU on Road, VT on Road, plus you gave me ND too, so there is your four. Want Five? USF has beaten Miami at home, L'ville will be looking to return the favor...Sorry, that is six. No real LBs, Brown can't catch, George is a walking Personal Foul, Williams barely played (Portal QB? Who?) the secondary is a sieve, the DTs are out of shape with another year of college food....Should I go on?
Miami should be able to beat all of them . Miami will be strong In the trenches . The scheme handcuffed the De when you slant them Inside the entire game . Trader will start next year , Horton will return with George . We hit the Portal for dbs and qb . Cam had all day to Throw the ball I believe a true running qb would make us all around better . Maybe not the numbers but more of a run , pass threat . Yes we have some people to purge and some over size de to push inside to DT . We need faster de around 240 not 275 to 285 de who’s to slow to get to the qb . Get a decent d cord who don’t run manny Diaz safety blitz the entire game . old school bs we need a creative d cord who can make adjustments on the spot

If he's our starting QB next year, we'll be lucky to win 7 games.

You cannot bet the house on SF players in critical moments, they will always come up short.

If we put the hopes of our season next year in the hands of a mediocre QB, we'll deserve everything that comes with it.

This cannot be the plan. It just can't be.
Given our limitations, we need to be willing to pay top of the line to

1. Get the best QB through the portal. Talk one of the draft eligible qbs to stay and transfer? Super long shot, but someone is going to talk Ewers into staying one more year. Regardless, we need to get our QB asap so we can recruit wr(s).

2. Overpay Damien Martinez to come back. Another super long shot, but offer him 1st round money.

3. Overpay for the top 2 DT, top 2 CB and top 2 safeties money can buy. Super long shot, but this is doable.

4. Overpay for a top WR to pair with the QB. Easier to do if you have your qb lined up already. If we go into the portal blind (no QB yet), its going to be hard to get another Sam Brown, much less a true difference maker.

Still can’t stress enough we should have found all the money to blow OSU offers for JS last year. I want to know the number JS agreed to when he supposedly said he was in with Miami the night before signing day and what OSU came up with in response.

We lose 2 players. One is the guy everyone here hated all offseason. The other is Rivers. I doubt Cooper leaves early.
Lot of possibilities with the OLine. Unlikely to be a big regression from this year - where Bell was already playing a lot...
While I think Bell was the wrong fit for the line that was highly dependent on the pass, I think he’ll be serviceable on the line next year if we are a run dominant team that I suspect we’ll be. But if we get another top tier QB and we are going to pass alot, I’d think about getting another tackle. Move Bell to RT and kick FM inside.

Idk if it’s just effort, IQ or overall more talented but in the short time Pruitt was on the field he stood out amongst everybody. Dude was flying around like a mad man
I’am from the area, and tied in with the scene. I’ve been in the group for quite a while, just never comment or get involved. I just like reading everyone’s opinion. The kids in this area are very well coached and eat, sleep football. It is something that is taken very seriously here. The drama is left at the door. There are kids in this area that if the staff gave more effort for they could have.

I’am from the area, and pretty tied in with the scene. I’am a huge cans fan. Been in the group a while, I just follow and not comment. But the kids in this area are different. They are very well coached and developed. Which no offense I think is an issue in south Florida football. Kids play off talent and not development, which is why they struggle when they make it to the program. It’s possible to be a 4 star with no development. It takes techniques in college. During the season it is Sunday to Friday each week around here. Not much down time. There is staff with ties here that doesn’t give much effort from what I believe. They take no for an answer. You can’t do that here.

This is the 2004 and 2005 seasons all over again. If you've forgotten or are too young, look it up.

Outside of the forever disappointment of our fans, no one will remember this team in 10 years. Just like the 2004 and 2005 teams, they accomplished nothing.

At this point, it's the program's DNA.

That’s a little disingenuous. Check their schedule last year compared to this year. Last year they were in the PAC 12. This year they were basically playing a mountain west schedule. Definitely a drop in competition level. I’m sure playing the likes of Utah St., Hawaii, San Jose St. and Fresno St. instead of Oregon, Washington, Arizona St etc had a little something to do with it. Last I checked Miami isn’t dropping down to play sunbelt conference teams next year.

The point is that Washington State was 5-7 with a "generational QB". We have more pieces than just Cam Ward.

Now this is also true. I’ll give him credit for that - he did hit on Dawson and got Cam. Two big steps in the right direction regarding his stereotypes on offense.

And I do think once in a blue moon, he’ll get a good DC…third time’s the charm?

But what worries me most is the holes on the roster that are reoccurring issues, the poor evaluations in those rooms, and the lack of development in those rooms. And that’s supposed to be his forte, what he’s known for and what he’s paid for.

Year 3, I’m underwhelmed to date.

Lashlee doing more with less. He’s a better coach overall compared with Mario. What he has done with his transfers, especially Brashard at running back (could’ve saved that Martinez $$ as much as I love Martinez) and elsewhere on the roster.

Mario is getting everything he wants and still can’t succeed here.

Mario could only win 5 games with Manny’s players where any other competent coach would’ve won 7 games while still being able to reconstruct the team.

In today’s college football, what you need is a prolific offense and a competent defense.

Mario has, in his 3 years, had a debacle of an offense and then a debacle of a defense getting something wrong each and every season.

Kiffin, Lashlee, Fickle,….. ****, even Fran Brown don’t need everything to be perfect to win and turn programs around.

Schuman at Oregon has taken Oregon to heights Mario only ever dreamed off.

Mario is just not a good coach. We are stuck with him. To me, he gets until year 5 and then you really have to reevaluate the situation. Miami is not going to fire him anytime in the next 2 season. He will get to the end of year 5 and then if everything is the same or nearly the same, you have to make a decision.

The amount of money and resources he has received for a 22-15 record at Miami, 84-75 is pathetic!!

Lashlee is 29-10 overall.

My realistic proposal: 2 year leash and then cut bait.

Bell will also have a season of s&c under his belt too. OL is not going to be an issue with Mario and Alex.
