Yearby

to say you prefer Sony and Cook over Yearby is fine but to say he isn't worth a div 1 scholarship? that's crazy.

Just for the record- I think he's definitely a D-1 prospect. He's a good back with vision. I just don't see any trait that will carry him to stardom.

His best fit is at a school like NC State or Louisville IMO.
Fair enough D$ i respect your opinion on this board just out of curiosity do you think he could be Miami caliber though?

I think if he comes here - and Miami signs the Sony Michels and Jordan Scarletts of the world - he'll end up transferring.

One reason I liked Chestnut as a backup plan is because he had similar skills to a guy like Yearby but was probably more likely to "know his role."

I really really really want Sony Michel, with that said dalvin cook is a crazy athlete and is crazy good and I would take him over yearby

I'm intrigued to see what happens with Yearby throughout the senior year process.

If he is truly a guy that "isn't that good"...surely, he'll end up inking with a lesser D1 school come Signing Day 2014.

This.

I said I don't think he's worth a scholly because I don't see the point of signing a decent back but not great and who will never be higher than 3rd on the depth chart at a school like Miami. Especially in a year filled with ELITE talent in our own backyard.

This is a very solid RB, certainly deserving of the offer. It's so easy to fixate on what a guy isn't, like saying he doesn't have Cook's speed (Who does?), but he does have very good speed along with good balance and vision. I'd prefer to see him break less of his runs outside, but I'm just looking at highlights.

Geez, so Miami Central at one point had Freeman, Cook, and Yearby. Talk about a loaded backfield in college let alone hs.

nothing tops the class of:

Charlie Jones - better than Adrian Peterson
Bobby Washington - #3 back in the US

Freeman also rode the bench to Brandon Gainer(div 1 to kentucky). Central has had a string of rbs come thru there..which is why i could understand us with Telly Lockette.

To expect every back signed to be to be a star or a great back isnt realistic. Saying that a kid who is still in HS will never be higher than 3rd on the depth chart isnt fair to the kid unless u can somehow predict the future.

Yearby has rushed for over 3000 yards and he still has his senior year to add to that. While I agree Michel and Cook are better, Yearby is still talented and a very capable back.

Id be happy if he ended up a Cane.

Yearby is a stud yall trippin it was a reason he was starting over cook for most of his time at central…better than all backs on roster with the exception of johnson

The interesting thing about this conversation is that while Sony and Cook definitely seem like the better prospects, it would not surprise me at all if this kid ended up having a better career? Why? Because that's how South florida works sometimes.
