Xavier Lucas in the portal

This NIL stuff also doesn’t make any sense. I thought that the definition of NIL stated that it cannot be attached to the promise that you would attend a certain school or else it’s just pay for play. Or did that just become a rule that nobody pays attention to and nobody cares about.
Isn’t that why we were all making fun of the Mims situation with FSU? A bunch of their writers were saying that he signed nil papers when he visited fsu.

Bunch of idiots talking **** about stuff they know nothing about.

But as I have pointed out to several people, this part is valid:

Can you tell me how this would prevent them from submitting the transfer paperwork? Also, do these contracts include non-compete language or buyout provisions in them? I'm far from an attorney, but I would be surprised if any representation worth its salt would agree to that kind of restriction of movement.

Lucas shoulda came to Miami in the first place. Let this be a lesson to all
With all due respect, none of that matters. He wants to come here now and he has signed the paperwork necessary to enter the portal. That is the only thing that matters. Let Wisconsin complain and threaten all they want. When Lucas is officially in the portal then we need to take him like we had planned to before.

The way Miami reacts to this situation will tell me everything I need to know about how serious we are as a program. If we move on to avoid any bad publicity or a potential lawsuit then that will speak volumes.

Another issue here that has not been discussed is if we did do something wrong then who was at fault and should they be held accountable? I don't want to bring up any names but my mind automatically drifts to one person.

They really pulling the 2 business days end up being 7 actual days bs huh lol

Oh you tweeted to enter on a Friday? Well the office already closed early. Sat/Sun are weekend. Monday we didn't fully process the request until the end of the day/last possible second. Tues/Wed are ChristmasEve/Day and office closed, Thursday is 1 full day, Friday is 2nd day so we'll put your name in at night right before we close.... Oh and lets not even account for you messing up one of the paperwork items that we didn't catch until friday right before we closed and you'll have to resubmit everything monday lol
.... So Wisconsin is actually doing this huh? Lol, I guess we wait till Friday at 5pm for his name to pop up in the portal...

I believe was Pate who said he thinks they'll change the conference championship format to something like what you're describing.

There would be 3 automatic bids going to the SEC/B1G. The top 2 teams in each of those conferences would be auto qualifiers and their 3rd and 4th best teams would play in a "conference championship" game for their 3rd automatic bid.

The loser of those games would still have a shot in the at large pool.

Meanwhile, the ACC/Big12's conference championship games would be the same. Winner gets an auto bid, loser goes to the at large pool.
Rename it from Conference Championship game to play in game.... Or just have both a conference champ game and playin game....

Even better, only allow 1 Non P4 game, and have minimum 10 Conference games or something.

Texas is the one that's hard to justify.

Their "difficult" SEC schedule was a joke. They played 6 of the 7 bottom teams in the SEC standings, Texas A&M, who they struggled to beat 17-7, and UGA, who they lost to.

Their non conference schedule was UL Monroe, Colorado State, UTexas San Antonio, and Michigan.

The only ranked team they played all year was UGA, who they lost both games to.

What did they do to EARN their ranking?

What they did was "play Georgia twice" which boosted their SOS which was the committees favorite metric this season

Does it matter that they looked like they didn't belong on the same field during the first game, at home? No, not at all. They "played" a quality opponent

Lol. Some very interesting was being used this year

More SEC bias

Trying to keep up with the latest here. Is there any actual ground breaking news here? I don't understand how they can possibly choose this 1 player to hold back on submitting transfer paperwork. They must feel like they really have some legit grounds for a tampering complaint? Hope this isn't another Andre Sam situation where Miami backs off. This kid looks like the real deal

Two things can be true at the same time. There were SEC-SEC-SEC forces working against us all year long. Yes, we ALSO **** down our own leg, but e only lost two road games by 5 and 4 points (the latter to a now-ranked team).

When the SEC was screaming all year long about "quality losses", Miami had some of the "best" of the "quality losses". Objectively.

Ask UGa about GaTech.
I agree both things are true. I just don't think that type of bias against is going to go away by switching conferences tbh, and the easiest road to getting in would be being one of the top 2 teams in the ACC.

Look, if you play Georgia 10 times in a season and go 5-5, you are guaranteed a spot in the CFP.

SOS matters....if just means more...

Not sure how a school can refuse to process the paperwork for any kid. I would think as long as the kid filled it out properly the school would be required to process it within the 48 hour time limit.

It doesn't prevent them from submitting the transfer paperwork.

I don't know any other way to say this, and I encourage everyone to do their own research by reading the recent articles on Fickell and Wisconsin and the exodus of players (as well as the Wisconsin boards).

FICKELL IS INTENTIONALLY BEING AN *******. AND TRYING TO BLAME EVERYONE ELSE FOR HIS PROBLEMS.

Xavier Lucas is not the first or the last player to flee Fickell and Wisconsin. And instead of the Wisconsin administration and fanbase accepting and acknowledging that fact, Fickell has begun to peddle the bull**** (and the Wisconsin fans are eating up the bull****) that Comical Villain Miami has swooped in to **** with poor little Wiscahnsin (in what must certainly be a delayed revenge tactic over the loss of TVD).

Now, follow along with me and learn a little bit about how a false narrative is constructed.

Everything was perfect in Cheeseland. All of the Wisconsin players loved the snow and the Paranos-women and the .500 record. Suddenly, Mario Cristobal appeared from behind his black cape, twirling his handlebar mustache. He offered MONEY to Xavier Lucas. In doing so, all of the virginal Wisconsin players learned of the existence of "N.I.L", and they started asking for more money. Some found more money at other schools. Some forced Wisconsin to pay them this evil thing known as "fair market value", because they are greedy ******** who didn't want to risk life and limb for the glorious "full scholarship" compensation.

Regardless, the evil Mario Cristobal triggered an exodus and/or overpayment of altar-boy Wisconsin players. And then, to make matters worse, even AFTER Xavier Lucas signed his glorious 3% cost-of-living-adjustment NIL deal, the evil Miami minions CONTINUED TO CONVERSE with Xavier Lucas, using methods such as hypnosis and sodium pentathol, until Xavier Lucas finally cracked and made the obvious mistake to submit Portal paperwork. At that point, Big Daddy Fickell stepped in to save Xavier Lucas from himself, and Wisconsin excecuted a serious of increasingly bizarre "administrative oversights" to prevent the clearly erroneous Portal paperwork from ever making it to the hands of the NCAA.

And Xavier Lucas was grateful for Big Daddy FIckell looking out for his best interest, no matter what Miami tells you. And pay no attention to Xavier's hiring of an attorney, those are not the droids you are looking for. This saga is a huge win for the lily-white and stain-free game of college football, which has never ripped off its players for the past century, and which was certainly going to pay Ed O'Bannon a lot of money for the NCAA video games, if only he had asked nicely.

Yep, it's those greedy-greedy players (but not the innocent Wisconsin players) and those evil evil colleges in places like Miami-murder-capital that are destroying our wonderful game of unpaid-college-football that we have come to love and profit from.

Now, no matter what you think of my dramatic summation of the situation, I can guaran-*******-tee you that Fickell is trying to blame everyone else but himself for the collapsing Wisconsin football program, and the "it can't possibly be us, we've done nothing wrong" Wisconsin fanbase are eating the nuts out of Fickell's ****.

As I recently told another poster, it doesn't matter what the truth is. It only matters that they BELIEVE THE LIE. Because that is what allows them to clutch their pearls and get all huffy about suing a 19 year old kid, instead of blaming Toxic Luke Fickell.

Will this narrative win out in a courtroom battle? **** no. But the truth doesn't matter. Wisconsin (coaches, admins, fans) are mad as **** and they aren't going to take it anymore. At least that's what they believe, and if sitting on a Portal application and rattling their legal sabers are going to make them feel better about their miserable, cheesy lives, then they are **** sure committed to going down this highway to ****.

Whatever they are trying, WILL backfire. It amazes me how many of those idiots agree with each other in their forums. If you hold out and sue Miami for a player chasing a pay raise, it will stain your national image and deter players (mind you, Wisconsin has 23 other transfers but this is the hill they chose to die on). You also risk counter-suit from a larger entity (financially) than you. Not even acknowledging the fact they and, every one else does it. But the Miami bias may push things in their favor. There's also proof that the entire fanbase has been ****ting on a player they act like they adored. I'm sure he's caught a glimpse. Dane County vs Dade County ain't a comparison. A reasonably minded person wouldn't even want to be there. Hopefully this is wrapped up by tomorrow and he can practice for spring.
