Xavier Lucas in the portal

This has got to have everything to with the NIL side.

Ain't no way Wisconsin wants to play the game on the tampering front. Even if they did, it would do nothing to stop him from transferring. NCAA would go after the school. Not the kid.

Call their bluff and let's move on, especially if he hasn't been paid this contract renewal. Good luck proving damages in a court of law. Even more good luck explaining it to recruits. This is Wisconsin. Not UF. They won't have big enough bags to have recruits ignore the facts like the gators.

It's not solely NIL.

I can’t help but think this is hysterical. Everything we do is a big show, but also it’s like pulling teeth.

Thousands of players transferring, but because it’s Miami it’s an issue.

Y’all know how this ends. We’ll stopping trying bc of fear from NCAA. Lucas well end up somewhere other then Miami.
This is what happened last year with that Marshall to Tulane transfer, who I think ended up at LSU. It’s amazing how Miami is different to schools we have no competition issues with for the most part.

What’s funny is I read Clemson QB Cade Klubnik decided to forgo the NFL draft and returned for another season. He’s also been the recipient of multiple seven-figure offers to transfer. Yet his name isn’t in the portal. How is he getting these offers?

**** Wisconsin. Get them on the schedule.

If the problem is with the collective isn't it a bit problematic for the school to be engaged in activity that harms him? Wouldn't that imply collusion between two entities that are supposed to be separate?
This is what confuses me too. I don’t see how a collective can keep UW from processing his paperwork. Sure they can try to come after him for legal contract issues later but the school still has to enter him in the portal right?

I wonder if the issue is that the Wisc Collective contract he just signed has some exorbitant penalty/buyout language in it
No - doesn’t work like that. I had an NIL with Brashard and Cyr. You cannot make it the NIL agreement contingent on being at one school. That is why they have 30-day termination clauses by either party.

Moreover, this is an issue of Wisconsin not submitting paperwork. Nothing re: his NIL should have any impact on Wisconsin submitting his paperwork. Apples and oranges.
