Wyche

Wouldn't be surprised to see my boy Hert as the starter at the NG over wyche.

Wyche Will be the Starter and the best DT by the first game. He has the mindset of being unstoppable. He has the strength to go with the big dogs. He has a great motor and good technique. Dont forget he was committed to USC at one point. They wanted him bad. there is a reason for that. Hert will be a great Rotational player and it wont be much of a drop off. the only thing that will stop Wyche is learning the playbook which isnt that hard for a D lineman.

Im hearing hes currently around 378

Pete confirmed in The Work 7-17 that he's at 360

Waiting to hear how he confirmed it.

- Did he weigh Wyche personally?

- Did he personally watch Wyche's weigh-in?

PETE,

How did you "confirm" his weight?

Pete picked up Wyche and put him on the scale and weighed him

He's weighing 360 per someone on the training staff

Oh, so it isn't confirmed. It is simply second/third hand information.

"Confirmed" is a word I will never trust again after I learned hat if Nevin Shapiro said something twice, it was "confirmed" per NCAA.

Your mom confirmed it.

* What does Golden think of DT transfer Michael Wyche: "He's strong,'' the coach said. He's at 348 pounds now, Golden said, and he wants him at 335. "He's got a great personality. He's very grateful. Every time you turn around he's speaking to kids. We're glad he's a Hurricane.''

From that interview, it sounds like we got exactly what we'd hoped for in Wyche and Kaaya. Important positions for this year and next.

That's certainly an interesting take on what the Golden one said. He didn't say anything about ability other than he's strong. The rest was that he a good human being.

Saw him at the gym today with Muhammad. Funny thing is, he stepped on the scale by the medicine ball area. The scale stilled functioned after he got off, for those wondering. I didn't ask him what he weighed in at, but if ever there was a person who could be described as big boned, it's him. His ankle is probably bigger than Muhammad's calf.

A gnat's waist is bigger than Muhammad's calf.

This is where JUCO hurts you. He's fat. Nobody 360 is anything but fat unless they're that Bhullar kid in the NBA. So we'll spend a year hearing about his weight loss and he'll leave here probably never having realized his potential if he's a junior. It's easier to deal with this with freshmen then juniors.

He's going to be out of shape and just the act of trying to run on and off the field during the 3rd down conversions is going to be a problem--ala Porter. All offenses are in a hurry now so all of these specialty packages with fat guys and isolated pass rushers are harder to do at the college level.

With Courtel's attitude and motor combined with his natural gifts he's going to be a monster football player. I'd RS him this year though. Axing freshmens to contribute on the DL, especially at DT, is pretty retarded. You're basically wasting a year axing a true freshmens DT to play.

Funny how so many people are sleeping on Rosier.

It takes an exceptional freshman to contribute at DT. The transition to DT from HS to college is probably the hardest one on the field. You pretty much have to be a man child in terms of size or strength. The thing that concerns me about Wyche is that he was 360. I wished he got here in January because if he was fat when he got here, year 1 will be a waist, pretty much. If the dude gets in shape and is at a reasonable weight, no reason he can't contribute.
