Would you change the OL lineup?

people are really having trouble with holding two facts in their lil old noggins at the same time:

1. jalen rivers will almost certainly play guard at the next level.
2. jalen rivers is an outstanding college tackle.

it's lunacy to think of moving a plus starter at left tackle to another position just because he profiles differently at the next level. in case you guys forgot, we're still playing college football here.

I know Mirabel likes to cross train the O-line. So I wonder they considered giving Mauigoa a look at LT when Rivers got hurt. Is he really going to spend his entire Miami career at RT?

The offense has been elite. But, would people make changes to the RB rotation? Many here would have a conversation too do so. How about WR rotation? Many people would argue for that as well.

It’s a simple question if people would make changes to the OL lineup.

I really can’t fathom how so many people are lossing their mind over a simple question. I never stated or demanded we need to make changes. It’s “would you make a changes” and most people say no for valid points. It’s been good enough, and keep continuity. If you don’t think there’s room for improvement, that’s quite the take.
Again

Room for improvement while missing 40% of your starters for 4+ games is wild especially when you're 6-0 with an offense that is lighting up the scoreboard.

Just wild

I'm honestly not wasting my life energy on the topic at this point.

This fanbase amuses me.

Go Canes

LT Bell
RG Rivers
C Carpenter
RG Cooper
RT Mauignoa

Best five, and no one is playing out of position (i.e., Rivers is elite guard as well as tackle).

Not related to this year - Given he’s missed half the season and lacks ideal measurables, is there any chance in **** we get Rivers to come back for another year? If (big if) so, don’t I remember someone, Mario, D$, someone, saying he may be the best center on the roster? I know he has the smarts for it, and god**** that would be a filthy starting 5 with Bell having another offseason to strengthen up his lower body.

I wouldn’t change what Mirabalio select as the first team along the line. I just want to see a lot more rotation. I realize that’s controversial but I think it’s important to get guys like Samson (assuming he’s even in the discussion now), Bell, Kinsler, et al. more game experience. And that will give the starters some rest to maybe generate more of a push in rush downs.

PFF grades, pressures, and sacks suggest our OLINE HAS NOT BEEN ELITE
Not a single figure in here has been posted to suggest that argument and not a single second of tape has been posted to suggest that argument too.

Like, you're down on O-Line-play for no evident reason. It's a top 5 group in the country playing with a backup at O-Line and a backup at RG for most games and now we're back to shifting everything around for no apparent reason.

The fact that so many people, in parts so aggressively, said no and reasoned why should, at some point, lighten the blub to come to the conclusion that the question itself wasn't as perfectly normal and as reasoned as you may thought. Which is perfectly fine, but there's a point where conversation should end when the argumentation is clear.

Notice how I didn't write in caps. Maybe that'll get the point across.

McCoy isn’t going anywhere until RR is ready play. You can probably pencil him in at one of the guard spots for next year. He’s been that solid.

How are you still responding in this? You said several times you don’t have the patience and are over this. Move on.

Clearly people didnt like the discussion point. I thought it was a valid discussion topic. Thats okay, I truly don’t care.

As far as you continuing to try and discuss this with me, No matter how many times I explain my opinion, you clearly won’t comprehend it. But I’ll try one last time. I am not down on the oline. They can be better, as with every position group on the team. Numbers have shown they are down from last year as an oline unit. Rivers back is massive, he is one of the best in the country and conference. Would just adding him back or moving guys around create a better net benefit? Idk, that’s why I asked the question.

I posted this thread as a simple discussion point of “would we make any changes to the Oline to improve it” I in fact, never really gave my opinion on the subject in the OP. I said I would prefer both rivers and FM on CW blind side.

That’s it. It’s really not that big. This isn’t a ****ing contest, because I don’t care. I tried to create a thread that elicited a solid conversation. Unfortunately, people took it personally and seem to think we are a perfect team and shouldn’t change anything. And, someone having the thought of doing so, makes them a glue sniffer.

I’ll refrain from posting here for a bit, thank you.

People that want to move Rivers to the interior do Jane Fonda workouts
This post should be titled “How to Insult 101 without getting banned”

Notice how the poster makes a clear point; that it would, in his opinion, very stupid to put Jalen Rivers at guard.
But he does so without replying to, or quoting, a specific poster. By using this technique he can make his point without making a “personal attack” and thereby avoiding the ever watchful eyes of the Mods.

Well done. And for so many of you, please take note.

The same people said bench everyone in the game day threads when Miami was losing. Then they come in here and spazz out in the opposite direction.

Did Mccoy get hurt in the 3rd quarter?

All of 4th quarter it was Bell at LT and Rivers at LG

Our OL is one of the reasons why we’re 7-0

It’s one of the best in the nation

Carpenter has been very good-

Who has a better set of OT than us-Very few.
